Entry Level Radiation Therapist Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level radiation therapist job?
Employers hiring entry level radiation therapists look for candidates with an accredited radiation therapy degree, ARRT certification or eligibility, and hands-on clinical hours from a practicum or internship. A strong clinical rotation record, a letter of recommendation from a supervising therapist, and familiarity with treatment planning systems like Varian or Elekta give new applicants a meaningful edge over a bare resume.
Which companies hire entry level radiation therapists?
Companies hiring entry level radiation therapists right now include CommonSpirit Health, OneOncology, and Trinity Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hospital systems, cancer treatment centers, and outpatient oncology clinics represent the primary employer types actively bringing on candidates at this experience level.
Are there remote entry level radiation therapist jobs?
Yes, though most radiation therapy work is hands-on and requires a physical presence with patients and equipment. About 1% of entry level radiation therapist openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions typically involve treatment planning, dosimetry support, or administrative roles rather than direct patient care.
Are these new grad radiation therapist jobs?
Yes, this page includes new grad, recent graduate, and junior radiation therapist roles alongside broader entry level listings. A posting is generally new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts ARRT eligibility in place of full certification, or counts clinical internship and practicum hours as qualifying experience rather than requiring prior employment.
Which industries hire the most entry level radiation therapists?
Entry Level radiation therapist roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Science & Research, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive the most hiring at this level because they operate dedicated oncology departments and treatment facilities that require a steady pipeline of newly credentialed therapists to support patient caseloads.
