Senior Level Radiologist Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a senior level radiologist job?
Employers at this level look for radiologists who have moved beyond individual reads to owning outcomes across a service line or subspecialty. A strong candidacy includes board certification in a relevant subspecialty, a record of protocol development or quality improvement leadership, and demonstrated mentorship of fellows or residents. Presenting case volume data and any published or presented work sharpens the application significantly.
Which companies hire senior level radiologists?
Companies hiring senior level radiologists right now include Medical University of South Carolina, University of California, San Francisco, and University of Colorado, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Hiring at this level comes primarily from large health systems, academic medical centers, and radiology practice groups that need experienced physicians to anchor subspecialty service lines and lead staff development.
Are there remote senior level radiologist jobs?
Yes, though most senior roles retain a significant on-site or hybrid component tied to leadership responsibilities. About 20% of senior level radiologist openings are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, most concentrated in teleradiology and subspecialty coverage positions where clinical leadership duties can be structured around reads rather than physical presence.
What makes a radiologist role senior level?
Senior level radiologist roles are distinguished by scope and accountability rather than read volume alone. These positions involve subspecialty ownership, protocol and workflow authority, and formal responsibilities for mentoring residents, fellows, or junior attendings. Senior radiologists typically serve on quality, safety, or credentialing committees and are expected to drive departmental standards rather than operate within structures others have built.
Which industries hire the most senior level radiologists?
Senior Level radiologist roles concentrate in Education, Healthcare & Medical Services, and Non-Profit & Social Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. These sectors drive hiring at this level because they operate high-volume imaging programs, maintain residency or fellowship programs that require experienced attending leadership, and face ongoing demand for subspecialty depth in areas such as neuroradiology, musculoskeletal, and interventional radiology.
