Real Estate Development Jobs in Denver: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a real estate development job in Denver?
Denver's strongest hiring comes from mixed-use and multifamily developers working in high-growth corridors like River North, Sloan's Lake, and the Sun Valley redevelopment zone. Candidates with experience in entitlements, pro forma modeling, or public-private partnerships have a clear edge locally. Familiarity with Denver's specific zoning code and urban renewal authority processes also signals readiness that generic applicants lack.
Which companies hire real estate developments in Denver?
Companies currently hiring real estate developments in Denver include Protiviti, Piper Sandler, and Prologis, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Denver's market draws a mix of regional developers, national REITs with local offices, and municipally backed community development organizations focused on transit-oriented and affordable housing projects.
Are there remote real estate development jobs in Denver?
Yes, though only partially. Site-dependent work like construction oversight and entitlement hearings is inherently on-site, while financial modeling, market research, and investor reporting are commonly done remotely. About 65% of real estate development openings tied to Denver are remote or hybrid as of July 2026. Hybrid arrangements are most common for acquisitions and asset management roles at larger Denver firms.
How can I get a real estate development job in Denver with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Denver is through development analyst or project coordinator roles at regional developers or community development financial institutions active in neighborhoods like Globeville and Elyria-Swansea. Internships with the Denver Urban Renewal Authority or affordable housing nonprofits build local deal exposure quickly. Proficiency in Argus or Excel-based underwriting models gives entry-level candidates a concrete advantage over equally inexperienced applicants.
Which industries hire the most real estate developments in Denver?
Most real estate development openings in Denver sit in Investment & Asset Management, Staffing & Recruiting, and Consulting & Professional Services, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Denver's rapid population growth, ongoing transit expansion along the RTD light rail network, and city-backed affordable housing initiatives have kept demand for development professionals consistently strong across those sectors.
