SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Responsible for the repair, maintenance and upgrade of the facilities refrigerated equipment including process chillers, lab equipment, HVAC, refrigerators, freezers, growth chambers, walk-in boxes, and ice machines. Responsible for scheduling and performing preventive maintenance of assigned equipment. Responsible for performing duties in compliance with EPA regulations and departmental policies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Training in refrigeration and electronics required.
- Five (5) years job related experience in Residential or Industrial Refrigeration and mechanical trades required.
- EPA Certification as a Universal Refrigerant Technician must be obtained within six months of hire date.
- Must be able to braze, solder, cut, form and assemble a variety of materials; and disassemble, repair and or replace a variety of refrigerated equipment.
- Valid Driver's License required.
- Must pass a written test and hands on skills demonstration with a score of 75% or greater.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
- Vocation Technical school training in the refrigeration and electronics arena preferred.
- Industrial Refrigeration experience is preferred.
- Operation of tractors, forklifts, high lifts and other types of equipment preferred.
