Job Description

Located on the beautiful campus of Notre Dame, this front-line fundraiser role supports the University’s development efforts. The Associate Regional Director works with a portfolio of 1000+ people to unlock the grace of giving in advancing Notre Dame’s mission. Using proven relationship skills, you will work closely with Development Department colleagues to identify, cultivate, steward, and secure unrestricted funds from benefactors in your specific geographic region.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Use strategy to identify, cultivate, and solicit gifts that join together the interests of donors with unrestricted and giving society opportunities at the University
- Develop relationships with current and potential benefactors whose resources will be integral to supporting the mission of Notre Dame
- Establish and maintain a rapport with each benefactor to sustain the benefactor’s philanthropic relationship with Notre Dame
- Create a digital fundraising strategy for your portfolio, including video and phone calls
- Attend a significant number of regional and campus events as a representative of the University, following safety guidelines and protocols; evening and weekend activity is routine
- Travel approximately once a month
- Promote teamwork and support within Annual Giving and across Development, acting as a liaison between Annual Giving and other areas of the Development Department
- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling visits, managing a budget, organizing contact reports, manipulating data in Excel, and reading reports to maximize work efforts.

Work Environment:
You will travel to and call benefactors in your designated region, connecting them to campus and joining together their interests with unrestricted and giving society opportunities at the University. This role is typically 40 hours/week but sometimes requires additional hours for operational needs. Typical needs include Notre Dame Football home games and Notre Dame Day, our annual day of giving. We also offer hybrid scheduling (3 days in office, 2 days remote).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of professional experience.
- Superb interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Comfortable and effective in dealing with high net-worth individuals, with the ability to easily develop rapport with the networks of leadership-level benefactors.
- Strong time management and organizational skills: process management from concept to execution.
- Effective at building collegial working relationships and thrives in a highly collaborative, cross-team environment.
- Ability to travel one-third to half of your work time; you own your travel schedule, which varies by season.
- Comfortable cold calling benefactors at a high volume.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in different stages simultaneously, along with proficient use of technology.
- Familiarity with the University of Notre Dame’s values, brand, and objectives.
- Commitment to defending the dignity of every human person, to promote a just society in which every person can flourish, and to attending particularly to the needs of the most vulnerable.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Understanding of non-profit administration and/or how philanthropy plays a role in an organization’s success.
- Demonstrated success in cultivating and soliciting gifts while simultaneously inspiring deeper commitment through relationships.
- Expertise in AI, data, or technology that drives giving.
Additional Information
$70,000 - $80,000, commensurate with experience.
