Relationship Manager Jobs in Boston: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a relationship manager job in Boston?
Focus your search on Boston's Financial District and Back Bay, where wealth management firms, regional banks, and commercial lenders cluster most of their relationship management teams. Candidates who demonstrate a book of business, CFA or CFP credentials, or deep experience in one vertical, such as middle-market lending or private banking, stand out in this market. Boston's tight-knit professional community means referrals from existing clients or colleagues carry real weight.
Which companies hire relationship managers in Boston?
Employers hiring relationship managers in Boston right now include Grant Thornton, JPMorganChase, and Flywire, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Boston's market is anchored by large regional banks, asset managers, and insurance carriers, alongside a growing number of fintech and private credit firms headquartered in the Seaport District.
Are there remote relationship manager jobs in Boston?
Yes, though with caveats: relationship manager work is inherently client-facing, so fully remote roles are less common than hybrid arrangements. About 37% of relationship manager openings tied to Boston are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with the flexibility typically found in portfolio monitoring, inside sales, or digital banking roles rather than in-person wealth advisory or commercial lending positions.
How can I get a relationship manager job in Boston with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Boston is through a bank or credit union teller or personal banker role, which several of the city's community banks and regional branches use as a direct pipeline into relationship management. Firms in the Seaport fintech corridor and Back Bay asset managers also hire associate relationship managers who pair a finance or business degree with internship experience. Familiarity with Salesforce and a Series 7 or SIE exam completion markedly improves early-career competitiveness here.
Which industries hire the most relationship managers in Boston?
Boston relationship manager roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Banking & Financial Services, and Investment & Asset Management, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Boston's status as a hub for mutual funds, life sciences companies, and higher education endowments creates sustained demand across those sectors, driving a more diversified local market than many other U.S. cities.
