Strategy Analyst Jobs in Massachusetts: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a strategy analyst in Massachusetts?
Strategy analyst roles in Massachusetts do not require a state-issued license or certification. Most employers hire candidates with a bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance, or a quantitative field, and top consulting and financial services firms in Boston often recruit directly from Massachusetts universities including Harvard, MIT, and Boston University. Building skills in financial modeling, data analysis, and strategic frameworks gives candidates a clear edge in a competitive market.
How much do strategy analysts make in Massachusetts?
Strategy analysts in Massachusetts earn a median of about $134,720 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $82,490 for the lowest 10% to over $216,940 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire strategy analysts in Massachusetts?
Employers hiring strategy analysts in Massachusetts right now include State Street, Harvard University, and ALKU, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Massachusetts's concentration of global consulting firms, major financial institutions, and leading life sciences companies makes it one of the more active states for strategy analyst hiring year-round.
Which Massachusetts cities have the most strategy analyst jobs?
Boston, Cambridge, and Waltham have the most strategy analyst openings in Massachusetts. Boston dominates because it anchors the state's consulting, financial services, and healthcare industries, while Cambridge draws heavily from its research and life sciences ecosystem and Waltham has grown as a hub for technology and biopharma corporate functions that require dedicated strategy teams.
Are there remote strategy analyst jobs in Massachusetts?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 79% of strategy analyst openings tied to Massachusetts are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how well the analytical and presentation-heavy work of the role translates to distributed settings. Corporate strategy, competitive analysis, and market research functions are the most likely to offer remote or hybrid arrangements.
How can I get hired as a strategy analyst in Massachusetts with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a business analyst or junior analyst role at a mid-size consulting firm or a corporate strategy rotation program at a large Massachusetts employer. Firms like Bain and Company and Fidelity Investments run structured new-graduate programs that develop analysts without requiring prior strategy experience. Candidates from adjacent roles in financial analysis, market research, or operations can transition effectively, and a demonstrated ability to build models and structure problems clearly often matters more than a specific job title on a resume.
Where can I find and apply to strategy analyst jobs in Massachusetts?
You can find and apply to strategy analyst jobs in Massachusetts on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers hiring in the state. Find roles that fit your background and apply directly to the ones that match.
