Relationship Manager Jobs in Charlotte: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a relationship manager job in Charlotte?
The clearest path in Charlotte is targeting its dominant financial services corridor: Uptown banks and credit unions, the wealth management firms in SouthPark, and commercial lenders in Ballantyne. Candidates who combine a finance or business degree with demonstrated client-facing experience stand out. Familiarity with portfolio management platforms and a professional network in the Charlotte business community also gives applicants a genuine edge over out-of-market candidates.
Which companies hire relationship managers in Charlotte?
Charlotte relationship manager roles are posted by Bank of America, PNC Financial Services, and TIAA and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. The Charlotte market skews heavily toward large national banks and regional financial institutions, alongside a growing layer of insurance carriers and fintech firms that have established operations in the city.
Are there remote relationship manager jobs in Charlotte?
Yes, though relationship manager roles are less remote-friendly than purely desk-based positions since much of the work involves in-person client meetings and relationship development. About 17% of relationship manager openings tied to Charlotte are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with the remote-eligible share concentrated in portfolio oversight, inside sales, and digital banking roles rather than branch-based or commercial lending positions.
How can I get a relationship manager job in Charlotte with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point in Charlotte is a personal banker or financial services representative role at one of the many retail bank branches across Uptown, South End, and the suburbs. Credit unions headquartered in the Charlotte area also hire associate relationship managers and rotational analysts at the entry level. Building familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM tools and completing a relevant certification, such as Series 6 or 63, noticeably strengthens early applications.
Which industries hire the most relationship managers in Charlotte?
Most relationship manager openings in Charlotte sit in Banking & Financial Services, Investment & Asset Management, and Technology & Software, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Charlotte's status as one of the largest banking centers in the United States means financial services alone accounts for a disproportionate share of local demand, with commercial real estate, insurance, and fintech adding consistent secondary volume.
