Entry Level Release Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level release manager job?
Entry level release manager roles reward candidates who can demonstrate familiarity with release pipelines, version control systems like Git, and basic Agile or DevOps concepts. Internship experience coordinating software deployments is a strong differentiator, but a portfolio showing personal or academic projects with documented release processes can carry equal weight. Certifications in ITIL or Agile fundamentals also help a junior candidate stand out at this stage.
Which companies hire entry level release managers?
Companies hiring entry level release managers right now include Stellantis, Capgemini, and Akraya, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. At this level, hiring tends to come from mid-size technology firms and larger enterprises building out structured DevOps or release engineering teams who are willing to train junior candidates.
Are there remote entry level release manager jobs?
Yes, though remote availability varies by employer size and industry. About 24% of entry level release manager openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, making this a more flexible field than many comparable junior technical roles. Hybrid arrangements are especially common at companies that prefer new team members to onboard in person before working independently.
Are these new grad release manager jobs?
Yes, many of these listings are new grad and junior roles that explicitly welcome candidates with little or no professional experience. A posting is typically new-grad friendly when it lists zero to two years of experience as the requirement, accepts internships or academic projects as qualifying experience, or mentions a portfolio in place of a work history. Recent graduates entering release management from computer science, information systems, or IT backgrounds fit well at this level.
Which industries hire the most entry level release managers?
Entry Level release manager roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Automotive, and Electronics & Hardware, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive hiring at this level because they run frequent software release cycles and need junior coordinators to support deployment scheduling, change management processes, and cross-team communication under more experienced engineers.
