About Branch
Branch is on a mission to make insurance more accessible, so more people can be covered. We innovate using data, tech, and automation to simplify insurance from start to finish. We eliminated inaccurate quotes in favor of real prices, created a better way to bundle, and cut unnecessary costs in the traditional insurance process. Then we pass those savings along to our members. Basically, we are doing insurance the way it was meant to be.
But we did not just create the insurance we have always wanted, we also created the company we have always wanted to work for. As we redefine insurance, we also want to redefine what it means to work in insurance. Find out for yourself.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time.
Branch is remote first, with most Branchers choosing to work from home. Our headquarters are located in Columbus, Ohio, where we come together from time to time to build relationships and connect with each other in real life. We also have office space in Columbia and Concordia, Missouri as well as Forreston, Illinois. Once a year, the entire company gathers for "BranchFest", a highlight of the year for many Branchers.
About the Role
We are looking for a copywriter who thinks like a systems builder. The center of this job is building and tuning the AI-powered systems that produce great copy at scale, so the team makes more, faster, without sacrificing quality. You will still write, and your taste and editorial judgment are essential, but the bigger part of the job is teaching the AI to write the way Branch writes.
Think of it as leading a team of writers you build yourself. You design the prompts, encode the brand voice, set the guardrails, and keep improving the system until the output is right.
This is production and systems work, not high-concept campaign creative. The day to day is member emails, product copy, social, B2B materials, and web, produced on brand and at volume. If your passion is chasing big-idea brand campaigns, this is not the seat. If you light up at building a clean, scalable content engine, it is.
This is not a role for someone who uses AI as a shortcut. It is a role for someone who understands that the quality of the output depends on the quality of the system behind it.
What You'll Do
AI Systems & Prompt Engineering
Build, maintain, and continuously improve AI-powered copy workflows that scale the team's output without sacrificing quality.
Develop and refine prompt libraries, brand voice guidelines, and training inputs that teach AI tools to write the way Branch writes.
Own the QA process for AI-generated copy: reviewing outputs, identifying gaps, and retraining systems when quality slips.
Stay current on AI tooling and bring a point of view on what is worth adopting and what is not.
Writing & Content
Write clear, on-brand copy across all formats: emails, direct mail, out-of-home advertising, B2B pitch materials, social posts, web pages, product tooltips, video scripts, long-form content, and more.
Bring the brand voice to life consistently across every touchpoint and audience.
Work within regulatory constraints without letting them get in the way of good writing.
Collaboration & Process
Work closely with designers, content strategists, and marketers to deliver copy that is right for the format, the channel, and the audience.
Contribute to building a scalable creative operation, one where AI handles volume and humans handle judgment.
What We're Looking For
Demonstrated fluency building with AI writing tools, not just using them. You have built systems: prompt libraries, custom GPTs, brand-voice setups, or automated workflows. You can show or describe what you built and how you made it write the way you wanted. This is the core of the role.
A point of view on AI tooling. You stay current and can say what is worth adopting and what is hype.
Strong editorial instincts. You know what good copy looks like and can articulate why something is not working.
2 to 4 years of copywriting experience. A traditional portfolio is welcome, and so is a body of AI systems work: prompts, custom GPTs, and workflows count as much as published copy here.
Comfort working across multiple brands, formats, and audiences simultaneously.
Curiosity and a bias toward figuring things out. This role will require building things that do not exist yet.
Excellent grammar, editing, and proofreading skills. Ability to adapt to feedback and edit copy to meet stakeholder expectations.
Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
Experience with Figma is a plus, but not required.
Experience in insurance, fintech, or a regulated industry is a plus but not required.

Tips for Your Remote Content Designer Job Search
Build a portfolio that shows remote-ready work
Include case studies that walk through your process from brief to final content, not just finished screenshots. Remote employers want to see how you think, communicate decisions in writing, and collaborate without a whiteboard in the room.
Apply early to remote roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists remote content designer openings from across the U.S. in one place, so you can find roles that match your background and apply directly without sorting through listings mixed with on-site or hybrid work.
Demonstrate async communication skills upfront
Remote content designer hiring managers read cover letters and writing samples closely because most of your future collaboration will happen in writing. Make every touchpoint, from your application email to your portfolio annotations, show that you write clearly and concisely.
Target distributed teams in your sector
SaaS companies, fintech platforms, and remote-first healthcare organizations hire content designers regularly and already have the tools and processes for fully distributed work. Focusing your search on companies with existing remote culture cuts your onboarding friction significantly.
Prepare for a remote-style interview process
Many remote content designer interviews include an async writing or content critique exercise before any live call. Practice articulating your content decisions in a short written brief, and have two or three portfolio pieces ready to screen-share and walk through in Figma or your preferred tool.
Remote Content Designer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a remote content designer job?
Target companies that already operate distributed teams, including SaaS startups, fintech platforms, and enterprise software firms, because they have established workflows for remote content work. Remote employers screen for strong async written communication, the ability to self-direct across multiple workstreams, and demonstrated proficiency in tools like Figma, content management systems, and plain-language writing. A portfolio that shows real shipped content, not just mockups, gives you a clear edge.
Which companies hire remote content designers?
Remote content designer roles are posted by Point, PointClickCare, and Branch Financial and others right now, based on current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Remote-first technology companies, distributed healthcare platforms, and large SaaS organizations are among the most consistent hirers of content designers outside a physical office.
Can you get a remote content designer job with no experience?
Yes, but remote entry-level content designer roles are harder to land because employers expect you to work independently from day one without on-site mentorship. Remote-first startups and smaller product teams are more likely to take a chance on early-career candidates. A portfolio of self-initiated or freelance projects, strong writing samples, and familiarity with async collaboration tools can open the door when a formal job history can't.
Do you need a degree for remote content designer jobs?
Not always. Many remote employers care more about your portfolio, writing clarity, and hands-on experience with UX content and design tools than they do about a specific credential. A degree in communications, English, technical writing, or a related field can help you pass initial screens, but demonstrated results, shipped product content, and a well-organized portfolio often carry more weight in hiring decisions.
Which industries hire the most remote content designers?
Most remote content designer openings sit in Insurance, Technology & Software, and Banking & Financial Services, per current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. These sectors rely on distributed product and design teams that need content designers to work closely with UX, engineering, and product leads regardless of location.
