The Center for Vaccine Excellence (CVE) works to assure all people have equal access to life-saving vaccines by expanding availability, supporting vaccine impact studies, and building delivery systems that facilitate access in developing countries. CVE also serves as Secretariat for a number of global health partnerships that advance this mission. Under the direction of the Brighton Collaboration Safety Platform for Emergency Vaccines (SPEAC) Program Manager/ CVE Deputy Director, the Project Manager supports the implementation of the Project per the Service Orders. This position serves as a liaison and key spokesperson to various committees and organizations, responds to inquiries and assists in promoting the program, assists strategy development, and the management of daily operations. This position may collaborate with representatives from private, government, and international agencies, design new initiatives and/or write publishable articles and papers. May supervise staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Directs the planning, development, and operations of a program. Collaborates with representatives from private, government, and international agencies.
• Plans, executes, and monitors program budgets, including approval of expenditures; prepares annual financial and program reports to external parties with interests in the program. May engage in fundraising initiatives on behalf of the program.
• Ensures that the program is in compliance with federal and international laws and regulations. Oversees program communications, including development of communications strategies, development of key program messages, production of print and electronic materials, and reputation management.
• Represents the program in various national and international fora, and actively engages with representatives from other NGO's for purposes of conducting research and designing new initiatives.
• May supervise program staff. Performs other related duties as required.

Project Management and reporting

• Provide project management support to the Center for Vaccine Excellence’s vaccine safety project, Safety Platform for Emergency Vaccines (SPEAC) and potentially other Brighton Collaboration projects.

• Manage information and creation of budget period financial reports for discussion with Work Package Leads.

Information & Knowledge management

• Assist the Program Manager in ensuring timely and accurate information, and workflow, between key constituencies (i.e., SPEAC team, work group leaders, subcontractors, TFGH staff).

• In consultation with Program Manager, as needed, manage content and facilitation of teleconferences/ meetings for the Executive Board and Project Management Office including development of agenda, facilitation of discussion and definition of action steps.

Financial Management

• Draft, execute, monitor and update contracts for consultancies and subrecipients.

• Review and process monthly invoices and travel expenses for staff and consultants.

• Track and monitor proposed changes to project plans and their financial implications.

• Keep project budgets updated with actuals and projections, keeping project leads informed of budget status on at least a monthly basis.

Other Responsibilities

• Represent the program in various national and international engagements and actively engage with representatives from other NGOs for purposes of conducting research and designing new initiatives.

• Act as a liaison to partner organizations and all project related personnel and affiliates, with a high level of diplomacy and tact.

• Establish and maintain regular collaborative contact with both internal and external stakeholders.

• Participate in problem solving and resolution of operational issues.

• Participate fully as a member of the Task Force for Global Health by contributing, assisting, and participating in projects, activities, and initiatives as requested by management.

• Perform other related duties as required.

TRAVEL: Up to 5% of domestic and/or international travel is included depending on project requirements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in field related to specific program as indicated.
• Six years’ program related experience, or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s degree in a field related to the program.

• Proficiency with Smartsheet and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).

• Experience in creating and managing project plans.

• Excellent English writing and verbal communication skills; high attention to detail and quality.

• Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills.

• Previous experience working on international projects.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
