Type of cooperation - b2b, 3-month initial contract with prolongation possibility.
Location - US, remotely
Responsibilities
- Implement and operationalize core backend services with fault tolerance, security, and scalability.
- Build API-first services integrating blockchain networks, third-party provider solutions, and internal systems with strong consistency guarantees.
- Implement secure service communications using cryptographic signatures, key management, and zero-trust architecture principles.
- Operationalize event-driven systems using Apache Kafka and asynchronous messaging patterns.
- Build highly available, strongly consistent, horizontally scalable services.
- Implement robust concurrent and asynchronous processing patterns for multi-threaded workloads.
- Integrate Web3 SDKs and libraries for on-chain interactions, transaction signing, and state monitoring.
- Implement structured logging, distributed tracing, metrics, and OpenTelemetry instrumentation.
- Produce and maintain high test coverage via automated unit, integration, and functional testing frameworks within CI/CD pipelines.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, API specifications, and operational runbooks.
Requirements
Must Have:
- 7 or more years of software engineering experience building and operating production-grade backend systems in regulated financial or enterprise environments.
- Experience with blockchain networks, smart contracts, consensus mechanisms, crypto integration, or tokenization platforms.
- Extensive hands-on proficiency in Java and Spring Boot. Comfort operating across polyglot stacks.
- Deep expertise in API-first design, RESTful service contracts, and microservices architecture patterns.
- Strong command of concurrent, multi-threaded, and asynchronous programming models.
- Proven track record delivering highly available, strongly consistent, and distributed applications.
- Hands-on experience building event-driven solutions using Apache Kafka.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD, DevSecOps practices, secure SDLC, and automated security controls.
- Hands-on experience with OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, and observability platforms.
- Strong technical writing skills; demonstrated ability to produce API specs and runbooks.
- Proven experience using Web3 libraries and SDKs (Web3.js, Ethers.js, or equivalent).
Nice to Have:
- Extensive hands-on proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, and/or NestJS.
- Direct experience with Ethereum, Bitcoin, Solana, XRPL, and other distributed ledger technologies.
- Familiarity with MPC (Multi-Party Computation), HSMs, and enterprise key management systems.
- Experience implementing Zero Trust security architecture end-to-end.
- Knowledge of tokenization, stablecoins, settlement systems, and digital asset operations.
- Contributions to open-source blockchain projects or Web3 tooling.
We guarantee:
- International experience in a stable company: the company has offices in Antwerp, Leuven, Lisbon, Krakow, Kyiv, New York and operates on the market for over 15 years.
- Passionate team in an innovative casual, positive, and open work environment ready to meet your new ideas.
- Great opportunities for personal and professional development as well as the chance to change the way the business works in the financial world.

Tips for Your Remote Java Developer Job Search
Apply early to remote roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists remote java developer openings from across the U.S. in one place, so you can find roles that match your stack and apply directly. Remote postings fill fast, and applying within the first 48 hours puts you ahead of the bulk of applicants.
Build a portfolio that shows async delivery
Remote hiring teams want proof you can ship without supervision. Host your Java projects on GitHub with clear READMEs, commit history that shows incremental progress, and documented architecture decisions so reviewers can follow your thinking without asking you to explain it.
Show Spring Boot and cloud deployment together
Remote java developer roles frequently require building and deploying backend services end-to-end. Candidates who can demonstrate Spring Boot APIs deployed on AWS, GCP, or Azure, with CI/CD pipelines in place, signal remote-readiness beyond just writing Java.
Sharpen written communication before interviews
Remote teams evaluate how clearly you write in technical discussions, not just how you talk in a call. Practice writing concise pull request descriptions and technical design summaries. Many remote employers include an async take-home component specifically to assess written clarity.
Remote Java Developer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a remote java developer job?
Remote java developer roles go to candidates who can demonstrate technical depth and the ability to work independently without daily oversight. Companies hiring remotely screen for strong async written communication, self-direction on multi-week tasks, and fluency with remote collaboration tools like Jira, Confluence, and Git. Candidates who can show clean, well-documented code and a history of shipping without hand-holding stand out from the pool.
Which companies hire remote java developers?
Employers currently hiring remote java developers include General Dynamics Information Technology, Miratech, and LTM Limited, per current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. The hiring base runs from remote-first fintech and healthtech firms to distributed engineering teams at large enterprise software companies.
Can you get a remote java developer job with no experience?
Yes, but remote entry-level java roles are harder to land because you're expected to ramp up quickly without in-person support. Companies most likely to hire entry-level candidates remotely include smaller startups and contract shops with structured onboarding. A strong GitHub portfolio with completed, documented Java projects, open-source contributions, or a deployed personal application can substitute for professional experience and open the door.
Do you need a degree for remote java developer jobs?
Not always. Remote employers weight practical Java skills, a demonstrable portfolio, and the ability to contribute to a distributed codebase over formal credentials. A degree can help with initial screening at larger companies, but bootcamp graduates and self-taught developers who can show real projects, clean code, and familiarity with frameworks like Spring Boot regularly land remote roles.
Which industries hire the most remote java developers?
Most remote java developer openings sit in Technology & Software and Healthcare & Medical Services, per current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. These sectors rely on distributed engineering teams building backend systems, APIs, and data pipelines that do not require developers to be on-site.
