INTRODUCTION
Jasper is the leading AI marketing platform, enabling the world's most innovative companies to reimagine their end-to-end marketing workflows and drive higher ROI through increased brand consistency, efficiency, and personalization at scale. Jasper has been recognized as "one of the Top 15 Most Innovative AI Companies of 2024" by Fast Company and is trusted by nearly 20% of the Fortune 500 – including Prudential, Ulta Beauty, and Wayfair. Founded in 2021, Jasper is a remote-first organization with team members across the US, France, and Australia.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As Director of Product Design at Jasper, you will lead a small, fast-moving design team and define how marketers work with AI. This is a player-coach role for someone who has built and grown high-performing design teams without losing their own obsession with craft — the weight of a typeface, the rhythm of an interaction, the clarity of an information hierarchy — and who leads from the front in a new, AI-native way of building. You won't just direct the work; you'll be in it: prototyping, vibe coding, and shipping alongside the team. This role carries three things at its core. First, you'll guide the design strategy of Jasper and help define the future of how enterprise marketing teams use AI. You'll set the vision for what our product feels like to use and make the calls that shape where design takes the company. As our design leader, you'll maintain the highest standards of visual and interaction design across the product, with the kind of polish and consistency that enterprise customers paying six and seven figures expect. As a member of the EPD leadership team, you will also work alongside Product and Engineering leaders to keep evolving how we build software with AI. Jasper has already aggressively evolved how we use AI to build software, and we want to keep accelerating. On the design side, that means exploring emerging ways to use Cursor, Claude Code and Claude Design, operationalizing design-to-front-end pipelines, and setting up our design system and context to improve the ability of coding agents to use the right components and follow the right design patterns. This fully remote role reports to the Chief Product Officer and is open to candidates located anywhere in the continental US.
WHAT YOU WILL DO AT JASPER
- Own and guide the design strategy for Jasper, setting the vision for how enterprise marketing teams will work with AI and making the design calls that shape where the product and company go
- Maintain the highest standards of visual and interaction design across the product. Set and raise the bar on every surface, holding the line on polish and consistency that enterprise customers paying six and seven figures expect
- Lead a small, high-velocity design team as a player-coach — coaching and upleveling designers while staying deeply hands-on, prototyping and vibe coding with tools like Cursor and Claude Code and shipping real work to production
- As a member of the EPD leadership team, work alongside Product and Engineering leaders to keep evolving how Jasper builds software with AI
- Accelerate, innovate, and define AI-first ways of designing and AI-first design-to-front-end pipelines, pioneering how prototypes go from concept to working, production-ready code
- Extend Jasper's design system and the context and skills our coding agents rely on
- Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to define the problems worth solving and shape roadmaps that deliver on customer outcomes
- Build a high-trust, inclusive, feedback-driven design culture that values autonomy, learning, and accountability
- Establish and run the team's craft rituals — design critiques and reviews — that elevate quality and develop designers
- Coach and support designers in their career growth, fostering both craft and leadership development
- Play a key role in hiring, onboarding, and scaling the design organization as the team grows
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO JASPER
- 8+ years of product design experience, with a portfolio that demonstrates exceptional visual design craft and strong end-to-end product thinking
- 4+ years leading and managing design teams, with a track record of building and developing high-performing, high-craft teams in a high-growth SaaS or product-led environment
- A genuine player-coach: you can lead and uplevel a team and you remain proficient and hands-on yourself — equally comfortable coaching a designer and shipping the work
- Demonstrated experience building AI-first design workflows and design-to-front-end pipelines — you have hands-on fluency with AI-native and vibe coding tools (e.g. Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, v0) and can point to real work you've shipped to production. This is non-negotiable at Jasper
- Proven ability to build and own a coherent, well-governed design system — you sweat the details and hold the bar so experiences feel consistent across every surface, the way enterprise buyers expect
- Outstanding UI and visual design judgment — a refined eye for typography, colour, layout, spacing, and hierarchy, and the ability to hold the team to it
- Working knowledge of front-end code (HTML, CSS, React/JSX) and fluency with modern design tools (Figma) — you can read, review, and riff in code when needed
- Experience designing for AI-native or AI-augmented products, with an understanding of the unique UX challenges they present (non-deterministic outputs, prompt interfaces, copilot patterns, trust and transparency)
- Background in B2B or enterprise SaaS, ideally at an AI-native company or one that has strongly pivoted to AI; go-to-market or marketing-adjacent product experience is a plus
- A pragmatist's mindset: you balance design ideals with business reality, shipping velocity, and engineering constraints without sacrificing quality
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate design rationale and influence across technical and business stakeholders, including leadership

Tips for Your Remote Product Design Manager Job Search
Apply early to remote roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists remote product design manager openings from across the U.S. in one place. Search roles by the skills and seniority that match your background and apply directly before competitive roles fill.
Make your portfolio readable without you
Remote hiring managers review your portfolio alone, without you narrating it. Each case study should explain the problem, your design decisions, how you led the team, and the outcome, all without a conversation to fill the gaps.
Show async communication as a skill
Remote employers look for product design managers who write clearly and document decisions well. Use your cover letter and work samples to show how you run critiques in Figma comments, write design briefs, and communicate direction in tools like Notion or Loom.
Target remote-first companies explicitly
Filter your search for companies that were built as remote-first rather than those that shifted after an office closure. Remote-native teams have better tooling, clearer async norms, and stronger onboarding for distributed design managers.
Prepare for a multi-stage remote interview
Remote product design manager interviews typically include a portfolio walkthrough over video, a design critique exercise, and a cross-functional stakeholder scenario. Practice presenting your process on screen and narrating trade-off decisions out loud without visual aids.
Remote Product Design Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a remote product design manager job?
Target remote-first companies and distributed product organizations, where the entire design function operates asynchronously. Remote employers screen product design managers for written communication skills, the ability to drive decisions without in-person cues, and experience running design reviews over video. A portfolio that documents your process clearly, not just final screens, gives you a real edge because remote hiring managers can't walk through your work with you in a room.
Which companies hire remote product design managers?
Companies hiring remote product design managers right now include Ameriprise Financial, Banner Health, and TE Connectivity, based on current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. These tend to be remote-first software firms, distributed SaaS teams, and consumer tech companies that have built their entire product and design function around remote collaboration.
Can you get a remote product design manager job with no experience?
Yes, but remote entry-level roles are harder to land because you're expected to operate independently from day one without in-office support. Remote-first startups and smaller product teams are the most accessible entry points. A strong portfolio of end-to-end projects, demonstrated async communication skills, and any contractor or freelance design management work you can point to will open more doors than a title alone.
Do you need a degree for remote product design manager jobs?
Not always. Remote employers weigh your portfolio, your ability to lead design systems, and your track of shipping products far more heavily than a specific credential. Many remote product design managers come from interaction design, UX research, or front-end backgrounds. A relevant degree can move you past automated screens, but a strong body of work with clear managerial outcomes is what closes remote offers.
Which industries hire the most remote product design managers?
The sectors hiring the most remote product design managers are Consulting & Professional Services, Technology & Software, and Electronics & Hardware, based on current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. These industries rely on distributed product teams and need design managers who can align stakeholders, run critique sessions, and ship consistent design systems without a shared physical office.
