Role Summary
The Sr. Agile Technical Project Manager leads end-to-end delivery of complex technology initiatives across distributed onshore and offshore teams, serving as both a hands-on Scrum Master and a technical delivery leader. A true Agile enthusiast, this person has led Agile mindset transformations across the people, process, and technology spectrum and fluently drives both Scrum and Kanban while acting as the organization’s Atlassian (Jira/Confluence) administrator and power user. A key differentiator is a demonstrated ability to embed modern AI tools into project management and delivery workflows to increase throughput, improve forecasting, and reduce manual overhead. The ideal candidate is technically savvy and translates business needs into well-structured, measurable delivery plans. Healthcare IT experience is strongly desired. This is a remote position; candidates in or near Memphis, TN are preferred.
Core Responsibilities
- Serve as Scrum Master and Agile delivery lead for one or more cross-functional teams, establishing and facilitating the appropriate ceremonies.
- Apply the right framework for the work, running Scrum for product/feature delivery and Kanban for flow-based, operational, or support work, and coach teams on when and how to use each, including WIP limits and flow metrics.
- Act as Jira Administrator: configure projects, workflows, screens, fields, schemes, boards, and automation across the Atlassian suite (Jira, Jira Service Management, Confluence).
- Manage delivery across onshore and offshore teams, coordinating across time zones to keep work unblocked, dependencies visible, and hand-offs smooth.
- Demonstrate the ability to identify, implement, and govern AI tools (e.g., Atlassian Intelligence/Rovo, automation, reporting copilots) to streamline planning, reporting, risk detection, and documentation.
- Build and maintain delivery metrics and dashboards (velocity, cycle time, throughput, burndown/burnup, cumulative flow) to drive data-informed decisions.
- Own program and project planning: scope, milestones, capacity, dependencies, and release planning across multiple concurrent workstreams.
- Proactively manage risks, issues, and dependencies, escalating clearly and driving them to resolution.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, QA, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into well-structured epics, stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Engage credibly on technical topics such as architecture, integrations, environments, CI/CD, and release management to anticipate delivery risk.
- Coach teams and stakeholders on Agile principles and best practices, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous delivery.
- In healthcare IT contexts, ensure delivery practices account for regulatory, security, and compliance considerations (e.g., HIPAA, PHI handling).
Qualifications
Experience
- 7+ years in technology project/program management, including 4+ years in a dedicated Agile role (Scrum Master, Agile Project Manager, or Agile Delivery Lead).

- Proven track record leading Agile mindset transformations across the people, process, and technology spectrum.
- Deep, hands-on Atlassian experience, including direct Jira administration and Confluence.
- Proven experience managing distributed onshore and offshore teams.
- Demonstrated ability to apply AI tools to improve project management, reporting, or team productivity.
- Healthcare IT experience strongly desired (e.g., payer, provider, health-tech, claims, EHR/EMR, or regulated healthcare data environments).
Required Competencies
- Strong technical acumen, able to converse credibly with engineers on architecture, integrations, environments, and release processes.
- Expert-level Agile facilitation, coaching, and servant-leadership, with genuine enthusiasm for advancing Agile ways of working.
- Deep Kanban proficiency and advanced Jira/Confluence administration and configuration skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management across technical and business audiences.
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to build and interpret delivery metrics.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple concurrent workstreams and shifting priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to adopt and evaluate new AI and automation tools to drive efficiency.

- PMP and/or SAFe certification a plus.
Preferred
- Healthcare IT experience, including HIPAA and PHI/PII handling in regulated environments.
- Experience scaling Agile across multiple teams (e.g., Scrum at Scale or SAFe).

Tips for Your Remote Project Administrator Job Search
Apply early to remote roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists remote project administrator openings from across the U.S. in one place, so you can find roles that match your background and apply directly without sorting through listings mixed with on-site work.
Show async communication skills upfront
Remote employers expect project administrators to keep distributed teams aligned without real-time meetings. Highlight experience writing clear status updates, documenting decisions, and managing shared project trackers in tools like Asana, Jira, or Notion.
Prove self-direction in your resume
Remote project administrator hiring managers screen for candidates who manage their own workload without supervision. Lead resume bullets with outcomes you owned end to end, naming the project scope, the tools you used, and what you delivered.
Prepare for an async remote interview process
Many remote employers use video interviews, written assessments, or take-home coordination exercises to evaluate project administrators. Practice articulating how you prioritize competing deadlines and how you handle ambiguity when a manager is in a different time zone.
Remote Project Administrator Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a remote project administrator job?
Target companies built around distributed teams, such as remote-first software firms and consulting organizations, where project administrators coordinate across time zones by default. Remote employers screen heavily for written communication, self-directed work habits, and fluency with async tools like project management platforms and shared documentation systems. Demonstrating those skills concretely in your application materials gives you a real edge over candidates with equivalent experience but no remote background.
Which companies hire remote project administrators?
Companies hiring remote project administrators right now include Rippling, Intellivo, and Convergint, based on current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Remote-first technology firms, distributed professional services companies, and healthcare organizations with multi-site operations are among the most consistent sources of remote project administrator openings.
Can you get a remote project administrator job with no experience?
Yes, but remote entry-level roles are harder to land because employers expect you to manage your own workflow and communicate proactively without in-person oversight from day one. Smaller remote-first companies and nonprofits are more open to entry-level candidates. Showing a portfolio of organized, self-directed work, volunteer coordination, or completed project management coursework can substitute for formal experience and open the door to a first role.
Do you need a degree for remote project administrator jobs?
Not always. Many remote employers weigh demonstrated organizational skills, experience coordinating deliverables, and proficiency with project management tools at least as heavily as a degree. Candidates who can show clear results from past projects, whether professional or self-directed, often compete well. A recognized certification in project management can also strengthen an application when a formal degree is absent.
Which industries hire the most remote project administrators?
Remote project administrator roles concentrate in Education and Construction & Real Estate, based on current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. These sectors rely on distributed teams coordinating complex deliverables across multiple locations, making remote project administrators a core part of how work gets done.
