Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Technical Solutions Architect to design and govern enterprise-grade application architectures spanning cloud platforms, integration ecosystems, data domains, and large business application portfolios. This role partners closely with business stakeholders, product owners, and engineering leaders to translate strategic objectives into pragmatic, scalable, and maintainable technology solutions that align with enterprise architecture standards. The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of breadth across modern cloud and integration stacks, depth in at least one major enterprise platform, and the ability to communicate technical trade-offs clearly to both engineering teams and executive leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Define end-to-end solution architectures for enterprise applications covering application, integration, data, security, and infrastructure layers.
- Partner with business stakeholders to capture functional and non-functional requirements and translate them into reference architectures and target-state designs.
- Lead architecture review boards, evaluating proposed designs against enterprise standards, security policies, and long-term roadmap considerations.
- Design integration strategies across SaaS, on-premise, and hybrid landscapes, leveraging API gateways, event streaming, and managed integration platforms.
- Establish architecture principles, technology selection guidelines, and reusable patterns for use across multiple delivery teams.
- Collaborate with security architects to embed identity, data protection, and compliance controls into solution designs from the outset.
- Produce high-quality architecture artifacts including context diagrams, component models, sequence diagrams, and decision records.
- Guide cloud migration, modernization, and re-platforming initiatives with a focus on cost, performance, and resilience.
- Support proof-of-concept development to validate critical architectural choices before broader adoption.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams during solution delivery.
- Track emerging technologies and recommend strategic investments that align with business priorities.
- Drive standardization across application portfolios to reduce technical debt and operational complexity.
- Engage with vendors and platform partners to evaluate roadmap fit and negotiate technical commitments.
- Ensure that solutions meet regulatory, audit, and data governance requirements applicable to the business.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Eight or more years of experience in software engineering or solution architecture roles.
- Demonstrated experience architecting enterprise applications across at least two major cloud platforms.
- Strong expertise in integration patterns, API design, and event-driven architectures.
- Deep familiarity with at least one major enterprise platform such as SAP, Oracle, Salesforce, ServiceNow, or Workday.
- Working knowledge of identity, security, and data governance frameworks at enterprise scale.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience producing formal architecture artifacts and presenting them to senior leadership.
- Track record of leading architecture reviews and influencing engineering direction across teams.
- Strong understanding of cost optimization, scalability, and resilience trade-offs.
- TOGAF, AWS, Azure, or GCP architecture certifications.
- Experience with large-scale ERP, CRM, or HCM transformation programs.
- Exposure to regulated industries such as financial services, healthcare, or life sciences.
- Familiarity with enterprise architecture tooling such as LeanIX, Ardoq, or Sparx EA.
- Experience driving cloud governance, FinOps, and cost transparency initiatives.

Tips for Your Remote Technical Solutions Architect Job Search
Apply early to remote roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists remote technical solutions architect openings from across the U.S. in one place, so you can find roles that match your technical stack and customer segment and apply directly without sorting through mixed listings.
Show async communication skills concretely
Remote technical solutions architect employers screen for written clarity. Include examples of architecture decision records, technical proposals, or RFP responses you authored. These signal you can lead complex technical conversations without being in the room.
Build a demo library for remote interviews
Remote hiring panels can't watch you whiteboard on a physical board. Prepare recorded walkthroughs of solutions you've architected, using tools like Loom or a shared Miro board, so you can run a live or async technical demo that makes your design thinking visible.
Target companies with distributed sales engineering teams
Remote technical solutions architect roles are most stable at companies that have already built out distributed presales and solutions engineering functions. Look for firms with regional solution engineering leadership listed on their team pages, which signals a mature remote operating model.
Remote Technical Solutions Architect Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a remote technical solutions architect job?
Remote technical solutions architect roles go to candidates who can demonstrate both deep technical fluency and the ability to drive complex deals independently, without in-person support. Remote employers screen for strong async written communication, experience running technical discovery and demos over video, and comfort with tools like Salesforce, Confluence, and Slack. A documented history of closing enterprise deals or owning customer technical relationships remotely gives you a clear edge.
Which companies hire remote technical solutions architects?
Companies hiring remote technical solutions architects right now include World Wide Technology, Zones, and BV Teck, based on current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Remote-first software companies, cloud infrastructure providers, and distributed cybersecurity firms make up the largest share of these openings.
Can you get a remote technical solutions architect job with no experience?
Yes, but remote entry-level technical solutions architect roles are competitive because employers expect you to manage complex technical conversations independently from day one. Cloud-native startups and SaaS companies occasionally hire junior solutions engineers into remote roles. Showing a home lab, open-source contributions, proof-of-concept demos, or a certification in a relevant platform like AWS or Azure can substitute for direct experience and open the door.
Do you need a degree for remote technical solutions architect jobs?
Not always. Remote employers for this role weigh demonstrated technical depth and customer-facing results more heavily than credentials. Candidates who can show hands-on architecture work, successful enterprise engagements, or strong platform certifications often compete well against degree holders. A degree helps at larger enterprise-focused companies, but many remote-first and cloud-native firms care more about what you can build and explain.
Which industries hire the most remote technical solutions architects?
Remote technical solutions architect roles concentrate in Technology & Software, based on current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. These sectors rely on distributed sales and engineering teams that need technical architects who can support customers and partners entirely through digital channels.
