Job Summary
The Center for Children and Families (CCF) is looking for a Research Assistant to join their team in Buffalo, New York. Provides support to federally-funded research projects investigating effective interventions for children and adolescents. Performs data collection, data entry, and assists in participant recruitment.
- Schedules study participants for research assessments and follows up with reminders.
- Provides assistance with participant recruitment which includes but is not limited to the following activities: effectively communicating with contacts at schools and other potential referral sources to coordinate recruitment events; conducting recruitment events at schools and other referral sites; following up with contacts at referral sites to facilitate direct referrals.
- Conducts standardized telephone screening interviews with potential study participants
- Completes behavioral observations of participating students in classrooms and of videos of parent-child interactions.
- Organizes documents and collects data from participants during assessment visits. Coordinates with participants and teachers to obtain teacher ratings. Verifies all completed forms and scores completed forms accurately. Follows up with participants to gather missing data.
- Completes study-related tracking files and data entry using web-based input protocols.
- Assists project coordinator and investigators with preparation of study reports, presentations, and manuscripts.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma with three (3) years of experience; OR two (2) years of post-secondary education with one (1) year of experience; OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of advanced features in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience conducting standardized testing, working with children and their parents.
