This position is responsible for providing administrative and clinical support functions including greeting and scheduling patients, ordering exams, triaging phone calls, filing and maintaining medical records. This position utilizes EPIC to facilitate research patient scheduling needs across the network. Assists clinical research coordinators and nurses with administrative and clinical tasks as needed. Prioritizes daily activities for timely completion of tasks and maintains office supply inventory.
- Schedules patient appointments. Coordinates with hospital departments, services, clinical and research teams to ensure appropriate scheduling and utilization of resources.
- Schedules and coordinates conferences, meetings, and interviews.
- Independently resolves scheduling conflicts and anticipates scheduling challenges.
- Assists with facilities related projects, monitors timelines for completion, and communicates with staff and vendors.
- Develops spreadsheets and reports and tracks data related to budgetary and regulatory information for invoicing and operations.
- Completes special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required
- Partners with study coordinators to assure study related tasks and schedules are aligned with protocol standards.
- Demonstrates strong customer service skills and triages telephone and in-person patient interactions independently.
- Greets visitors and patients, performs patient check in and check out.
EDUCATION: High School Diploma
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 2-5 Years in a healthcare setting
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Photocopier, fax equipment, software and database skills, medical equipment appropriate to research and strong organizational and communication skills. Clerical background with general computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, electronic health systems and databases used in a research environment or have the willingness to learn and demonstrate proficiency.
