Research Coordinator Jobs in Seattle: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a research coordinator job in Seattle?
Focus your search on Seattle's three strongest hiring hubs: academic medical centers in the University District, life sciences and biotech companies in South Lake Union, and public health agencies near Capitol Hill. Candidates with clinical trial coordination experience, IRB protocol knowledge, or familiarity with REDCap data systems stand out here. Tailoring your application to a specific research area, such as oncology, infectious disease, or population health, gives you a clear edge in this market.
Which companies hire research coordinators in Seattle?
Companies currently hiring research coordinators in Seattle include University Of Washington, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, and Providence Swedish, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Seattle's hiring base skews heavily toward academic medical systems, federally funded research institutes, and growth-stage biotech firms, giving candidates a wide range of environment and mission to choose from.
Are there remote research coordinator jobs in Seattle?
Yes, though research coordinator roles that require specimen handling, patient contact, or on-site protocol management are almost always in-person. About 11% of research coordinator openings tied to Seattle are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting demand from employers whose coordinators focus on data entry, regulatory submissions, and participant scheduling rather than hands-on lab or clinical work.
How can I get a research coordinator job in Seattle with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Seattle is through a research assistant or study assistant role at one of the city's large academic medical systems or universities, where training pipelines for coordinators are well established. Volunteering or interning with a University of Washington research lab or a Seattle-area public health program builds the IRB and data management exposure employers look for. Lateral moves from clinical roles like medical assistant or patient services representative also open doors at hospital-based research departments.
Which industries hire the most research coordinators in Seattle?
The sectors hiring the most research coordinators in Seattle are Non-Profit & Social Services and Healthcare & Medical Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Seattle's position as a hub for federally funded medical research, combined with a fast-growing biotech corridor in South Lake Union, keeps demand for coordinators consistently high across those fields.
