Respiratory Therapist Jobs in Charlotte: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a respiratory therapist job in Charlotte?
Focus your search on Charlotte's large hospital systems, which do the heaviest hiring, along with the specialty clinics and long-term acute care facilities clustered in University City and the SouthPark corridor. Candidates with ACLS certification, neonatal experience, or sleep disorder training tend to move through the interview process faster here. Networking with the local American Association for Respiratory Care chapter also opens doors that job boards alone won't.
Which companies hire respiratory therapists in Charlotte?
Charlotte respiratory therapist roles are posted by Atrium Health, Novant Health, and American Traveler and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. The Charlotte market is anchored by large health system employers, with additional hiring from rehabilitation centers, home health agencies, and specialty pulmonary practices serving the region.
Are there remote respiratory therapist jobs in Charlotte?
Yes, but with a significant caveat: hands-on clinical respiratory therapy is almost entirely on-site by nature, so fully remote roles are rare. About 0% of respiratory therapist openings tied to Charlotte are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions tend to be in telehealth monitoring, sleep study interpretation, or clinical education and training roles rather than direct patient care.
How can I get a respiratory therapist job in Charlotte with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Charlotte is landing a new-grad or associate-level role at one of the larger health systems, which run structured residency and orientation programs for early-career respiratory therapists. Positions in home health, skilled nursing, and long-term acute care facilities in the metro also hire candidates with limited hospital experience. Completing a clinical rotation at a Charlotte-area program and applying directly before graduation gives you a meaningful advantage.
Which industries hire the most respiratory therapists in Charlotte?
Most respiratory therapist openings in Charlotte sit in Healthcare & Medical Services, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Charlotte's steady population growth and the regional draw of its major medical campuses keep those sectors expanding, creating consistent demand for both inpatient and outpatient respiratory care across the metro.
