Respiratory Therapist Jobs in Cleveland: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a respiratory therapist job in Cleveland?
Cleveland's strongest hiring comes from its dense concentration of academic medical centers, large regional hospital networks, and long-term acute care facilities clustered around University Circle and the lakefront medical corridor. Candidates with experience in critical care, mechanical ventilation, or neonatal respiratory support stand out in this market. Applying directly to health system career portals and targeting roles in pulmonary diagnostics or sleep disorder centers gives you a practical edge locally.
Which companies hire respiratory therapists in Cleveland?
Cleveland respiratory therapist roles are posted by University Hospitals, American Traveler, and Voyage Health and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Cleveland's hiring is driven by its nationally recognized health systems, specialty hospitals, and a growing network of outpatient pulmonary and home health providers serving the broader Northeast Ohio region.
Are there remote respiratory therapist jobs in Cleveland?
Yes, though remote work is rare for respiratory therapists given the hands-on, bedside nature of most clinical roles. About 20% of respiratory therapist openings tied to Cleveland are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with most of those opportunities concentrated in telehealth respiratory monitoring, clinical education, or case management functions rather than direct patient care.
How can I get a respiratory therapist job in Cleveland with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Cleveland is landing a staff respiratory therapist role at one of the city's community hospitals or long-term acute care facilities, which hire new graduates more consistently than the flagship academic centers. Cuyahoga Community College and other local programs have established relationships with area employers. Targeting night-shift or float-pool postings at mid-sized facilities in areas like Parma, Euclid, or Westlake gives new graduates a realistic foot in the door.
Which industries hire the most respiratory therapists in Cleveland?
Most respiratory therapist openings in Cleveland sit in Healthcare & Medical Services and Consulting & Professional Services, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Cleveland's status as a national hub for cardiovascular and pulmonary medicine, anchored by its major health systems and specialty referral centers, sustains consistently high demand for respiratory therapists across inpatient, outpatient, and home health settings.
