WMBD (CBS), WYZZ(FOX), and WMBD+ in Peoria, IL, has an immediate opening for a highly motivated Director of Sales with a proven track record of success.

This new opportunity in Peoria, known as the River City, will report directly to the General Manager and work closely with other Department Heads to consistently deliver on the station’s strategic goals for growth. We are seeking an energetic, positive, and creative leader to build on the success of our Digital and Linear Sales Team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and leadership skills, strong business acumen, and a high sense of urgency. You must also have exceptional interpersonal skills and be highly visible both inside the station and in the community. As Director of Sales, you will be responsible for achieving all revenue goals by developing a comprehensive plan, effectively communicating it across the team, and driving execution with focus and accountability. Full-funnel sales and marketing expertise is essential.

Peoria, known as the River City, sits in the heart of the USA, a short drive from Chicago, with convenient access to other Midwest destinations. Peoria will capture the attention of any explorer or adventure seeker with its extensive parks, trails, and natural areas along the Illinois River, including highlights like the 540-acre Forest Park Nature Preserve (an Illinois State Nature Preserve with miles of hiking trails), Wildlife Prairie Park, and numerous other green spaces managed by the Peoria Park District.

Peoria is home to a vibrant arts scene, featuring the Figge Art Museum (with strong collections and exhibitions, as a premier arts destination in the region) and the Peoria Riverfront Museum, along with the Contemporary Art Center of Peoria. It's also home to the Peoria Civic Center (including the Prairie Home Alliance Theater), a major venue for performing arts, concerts, Broadway shows, and cultural events.

• Requirements & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising or Mass Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
• Fluency in English
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both oral and written
• Minimum five years’ experience in Television Station Management is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
• Experience guiding, directing and motivating others, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance
• Experience establishing long-range objectives and specifying the strategies and actions to achieve them
• Ability to identify the developmental needs of others and to coach, mentor or otherwise help others to improve their knowledge or skills
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, WideOrbit and Matrix
• Pay range: $125,000-$150,000
