Senior Property Accountant Jobs in Nebraska

INTRODUCTION

The Sr. Accountant will support the Controller in safeguarding Company assets by monitoring and implementing internal controls. The Senior Accountant will assist the merchandising team with daily accounting support. Other responsibilities include review of financial reports and underlying subledger reports, assisting in month end and year end close, and supervising the Merchandising Assistant Manager.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close functions
• Prepares and enters journal entries
• Reconciles assigned general ledger accounts of various complexity on a monthly basis
• Participates in the development and maintenance of accounting and reporting policies and procedures
• Identifies and implements process improvements
• Supports internal and external audits
• May lead projects, typically directly related to scope of role, while also actively participating in broader scope projects
• Applies judgment using knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with other
• Applies knowledge and experience to solve problems within a narrow scope and limited risk of error
• Acts as a resource for teammates
• Works independently within established guidelines
• Typically involves a higher proportion of routine vs non-routine work, where routine work is typically executed without being approved, and non-routine work may require review prior to execution

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
• CPA certification preferred
• 4+ years of related experience
