The Loop and Fulton Market district host the highest concentration of relevant employers. Candidates who combine technical pre-sales experience with familiarity in financial services or SaaS platforms stand out locally. Yes, though many senior solutions engineer roles require client-facing or on-site work, making full remote arrangements less common than in purely analytical positions. About 80% of senior solutions engineer openings tied to Chicago are remote or hybrid as of October 2026. The portions of the role most likely to remain remote in Chicago are internal technical demonstrations and stakeholder calls, while new client engagement and on-site deployment work typically stays in person.
How can I get a senior solutions engineer job in Chicago with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Chicago is moving into a junior or associate solutions engineer role at a mid-size SaaS or cloud services company, several of which are headquartered in the Fulton Market and River North corridors. Chicago employers in fintech and healthcare IT also hire from technical support and implementation consultant backgrounds. Building hands-on experience with enterprise platforms like Salesforce or AWS and pursuing relevant certifications strengthens a local candidate's profile significantly.
