Service Engineer Jobs in Los Angeles: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a service engineer job in Los Angeles?
Focus your search on the sectors that hire most heavily in Los Angeles: aerospace and defense contractors in El Segundo and Torrance, medical device and life sciences firms along the I-405 corridor, and industrial automation companies in the South Bay. Candidates who can show hands-on field experience with complex equipment stand out, and familiarity with aerospace or FDA-regulated environments gives a real edge in this market.
Which companies hire service engineers in Los Angeles?
Employers hiring service engineers in Los Angeles right now include Globus Medical, 626, and CBRE, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Los Angeles draws a broad mix of large defense primes, regional medical device manufacturers, and industrial equipment distributors, all of which maintain dedicated field service teams.
Are there remote service engineer jobs in Los Angeles?
Yes, though remote availability is limited for this role since most service engineer work involves on-site equipment installation, maintenance, or troubleshooting. About 57% of service engineer openings tied to Los Angeles are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those tend to be in technical support, applications engineering, or pre-sales roles rather than hands-on field positions.
How can I get a service engineer job in Los Angeles with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Los Angeles is through field service technician or junior applications engineer roles at regional equipment distributors and mid-size defense subcontractors in the South Bay and Long Beach areas. Many of those employers promote from within once technicians demonstrate systems knowledge. Associate-level roles at Los Angeles-area medical device companies are also a strong starting point, especially for candidates with biomedical or electrical coursework.
Which industries hire the most service engineers in Los Angeles?
Los Angeles service engineer roles concentrate in Medical Devices, Science & Research, and Technology & Software, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. The region's deep aerospace and defense base, combined with a large cluster of medical device and industrial automation firms, keeps demand for service engineers consistently active across those sectors.
