We are seeking a hands-on Sr Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and support of enterprise-grade applications that power critical business interactions and digital experiences. This role will drive the delivery of secure, scalable, and high-performing platforms across front-end and back-end with the ability to drive engineering best practices and provide leadership within and across teams. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who takes ownership, works well in a collaborative environment, and demonstrates the potential to grow into broader technical leadership responsibilities.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be a key contributor to the software engineering team, helping design and deliver the next generation of enterprise applications. This role is focused on backend engineering and cloud-native services, while also offering opportunities to contribute to frontend solutions and broader full-stack initiatives as needed.
The Work Itself
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services, APIs, and enterprise applications using Java and modern cloud-native architecture
- Contribute to frontend development including support for user-facing features and full-stack solutions when needed
- Translate business and technical requirements into scalable, maintainable software designs and implementation plans, provide estimates and communicate tradeoffs and risks clearly.
- Write clean, reusable, secure, and high-quality code that aligns with engineering standards and best practices. Address vulnerabilities on regular bases and always on a look for opportunities of enhancements.
- Contribute to system design, architecture discussions, and technical decision-making across projects
- Demonstrate ownership of deliverables from design through deployment and production support
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools and agents to improve engineering productivity, accelerate delivery, enhance code quality, and support activities such as code generation, refactoring, test creation, documentation, and troubleshooting.
- Evaluate and apply AI-assisted development practices responsibly, including validating outputs, maintaining code quality, and ensuring alignment with security and engineering standards
- Perform code reviews, promote excellence in engineering, and help raise the technical capabilities of the team
- Provide informal technical leadership through mentoring, knowledge sharing, and guidance on design and implementation approaches
- Participate in and help lead agile ceremonies and technical sessions, including sprint planning, design reviews, backlog refinement, code reviews, and retrospectives
- Support automated testing, continuous integration, and _pnoun_2_/CD practices across the software delivery lifecycle
The Skills You Bring
Minimum Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of software engineering experience with strong proficiency in Java, Java EE, Spring Boot, REST Web Services, Hibernate, MySQL, and JUnit
- Strong experience building backend systems, APIs, and microservices in large enterprises or SaaS environments
- Experience working in cloud-based environments such as AWS EC2, ECS, API Gateway, Lambda, S3, and SQS
- Experience with scripting languages such as bash, Python, or JavaScript
- Strong experience working in Agile Scrum environments
- Knowledge of continuous integration tools (GitLab), automated testing frameworks, and CI/CD
- Strong experience with JSON, XML, XSLT, and relational databases
- Ability to create technical designs, document solutions clearly, and communicate architecture effectively
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools or AI agents to support software engineering workflows, including coding, testing, debugging, documentation, or developer productivity. For example, Claude Code or similar AI tools.
- Ability to assess and validate AI-generated outputs to ensure accuracy, maintainability, security, and alignment with engineering standards
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Reports to the office 3 (three) times a week
