Entry Level Software Quality Assurance Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level software quality assurance job?
Entry level software quality assurance employers look for candidates who can demonstrate hands-on testing experience, even from coursework, internships, or personal projects. Familiarity with bug-tracking tools, basic test case writing, and an understanding of the software development lifecycle gives you a clear edge. A portfolio showing real test plans or defect reports signals readiness far more effectively than credentials alone at this stage.
Which companies hire entry level software quality assurances?
Companies hiring entry level software quality assurances right now include DHL, FujiFilm, and MES Solutions, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a wide range of employers, including technology companies, healthcare platforms, financial services firms, and software-focused startups that need growing QA teams and are willing to develop new talent.
Are there remote entry level software quality assurance jobs?
Yes, though availability varies by employer and role type. About 15% of entry level software quality assurance openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, making this a relatively flexible field for new professionals. Many companies offering remote QA roles still prefer candidates who can join team standups and collaborate closely with developers across time zones.
Are these new grad software quality assurance jobs?
Yes, these include new grad, recent graduate, and junior software quality assurance roles. A posting is typically new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts internships or academic projects as qualifying background, or explicitly invites candidates with a testing portfolio in place of professional history. Look for language like "entry level," "junior QA," or "0 to 2 years" in the job description.
Which industries hire the most entry level software quality assurances?
Entry Level software quality assurance roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals, and Manufacturing, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive hiring at this level because they ship software continuously and need dedicated QA professionals to catch defects early, maintain release quality, and support agile development teams that depend on fast, reliable testing cycles.
