Location
This position is 100% in-office and reports to our facility on site in Syracuse, NY.
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. As an integral part of our organization, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating various tasks, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of accounting operations.
To thrive in this role, you must be extremely organized, detail oriented, and able to work at a fast pace. Our ideal candidate will be driven and eager to learn in order to develop a deep understanding of the company and its processes. You will be successful in your position if you have a desire to advance yourself by seeking out new skills and applying them to your work here at Rapid.
Salary Range
$60,000 to $80,000 per year, based on experience
Hours
Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm
Responsibilities
- Analysis and reconciliation for general ledger account.
- Prepare financial information and financial reports for monthly internal financial reporting package.
- Analyze activity in accounts reported on the balance sheet.
- Analyze Profit and Loss statements compared to past trends and expected results.
- Identify monthly adjustment entries as needed from the review and report findings to Controller.
- Prepare internal reports including budgets, cash forecasts, and sales summaries.
- Prepare job cost analysis for completed projects and work in process.
- Develop an in-depth knowledge of functions, processes, and reporting for the organization.
- Perform analysis on key segments of information and provide recommendations on plan of action.
- Collaborate on engagements within the organization to improve efficiency and accuracy in reporting.
- Provide effective insight into current and future projects.
- Assist in the creation, maintenance, and updating of processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy of reporting.
- Contribute to department and organization special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
- Candidate should have zero (0) to five (5) years of accounting experience.
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of general accepted accounting and auditing practices and principles.
- Outstanding organization and planning abilities.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Successfully clear drug screen and background check to meet industry and security licensing requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Candidate should have one (1) to three (3) years of accounting experience.
- Strong organizational and analytic abilities.
- Proficient understanding of laws, codes, and regulations.
- Experience utilizing Power BI for financial and accounting analysis.
