Becoming a clinical director in New York typically requires an active New York state license in your clinical discipline, obtained through the New York State Education Department's Office of the Professions, combined with a master's degree in a relevant health field or healthcare administration. Most employers expect candidates to have held supervisory or program management roles before moving into a director-level position. Strong candidates often hold additional credentials such as board certification in their specialty or a relevant leadership certificate.
Which companies hire clinical directors in New York?
Employers hiring clinical directors in New York right now include Regeneron, Northwell Health, and Riverview, LLP, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Which New York cities have the most clinical director jobs?

New York City dominates the distribution because of its unmatched density of hospital systems, academic medical centers, and community health networks, while Buffalo and Albany generate steady demand through regional health systems, state agencies, and university-affiliated medical programs anchoring those markets.
