Clinical Support Associate Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a clinical support associate in New York?
Most clinical support associate roles in New York require at minimum a high school diploma, though many employers prefer candidates with an associate or bachelor's degree in a health-related field. No single state license governs the role, but positions in certain settings may require a certified nursing assistant credential issued through the New York State Department of Health. Completing a medical assistant program or gaining experience in a direct patient care role strengthens a candidate's profile considerably in this market.
Which companies hire clinical support associates in New York?
Employers hiring clinical support associates in New York right now include Trinity Health, Catholic Health System, and Kaleida Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. New York's density of large academic medical centers, community hospitals, and specialty practices means demand for this role is spread across both major metros and suburban health systems throughout the state.
Which New York cities have the most clinical support associate jobs?
Buffalo, Rochester, and New York are the New York cities with the most clinical support associate openings. New York City dominates the distribution given its concentration of major hospital systems and specialty clinics, while Buffalo and Albany see consistent demand driven by anchor institutions like SUNY-affiliated medical centers and regional health networks serving large surrounding populations.
Are there remote clinical support associate jobs in New York?
Yes, but they're rare. Clinical support associates typically work on-site to provide direct patient assistance, coordinate care in person, and support clinical staff in real time. About 5% of clinical support associate openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how hands-on the role tends to be. The portions of the role most likely to be performed remotely are administrative scheduling, patient follow-up calls, and care coordination documentation.
How can I get hired as a clinical support associate in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to patient care technician or medical assistant openings at large New York health systems, many of which offer new-hire training for candidates without clinical backgrounds. Northwell Health and NYC Health + Hospitals both run workforce development and apprenticeship programs that target entry-level candidates. Earning a CNA credential through a New York State Department of Health approved program or completing a short medical assistant certificate course gives candidates a concrete edge when competing against other applicants.
Where can I find and apply to clinical support associate jobs in New York?
