Job Title: Product Manager Intern
Location: On-site 4 days in Hoboken NJ
Duration: 8 weeks
Department: Actimize AML Product Management
About the Role:
We are looking for a motivated and curious Product Management Intern to join our team for Summer 2026. This is an opportunity to work on real, high-impact product initiatives within our Anti-Money Laundering (AML) software portfolio, collaborate with Senior Product Managers, Data Scientists, Product Owners, and cross-functional stakeholders across engineering, sales, and marketing, and contribute to a product roadmap that shapes financial crime compliance for some of the world's largest financial institutions — while gaining exposure to AI-driven product strategy, regulatory technology, agile product development, and enterprise SaaS product operations.
You will be embedded directly within the AML Product Management team, working on a defined project that delivers a tangible, presentable output by the end of your internship. Depending on your strengths and interests assessed during onboarding, your project will be scoped to match your capabilities — ranging from structured research and analysis to competitive intelligence and internal tooling strategy.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conducting market and competitive research across AML technology vendors, emerging digital asset solutions, or AI-driven product capabilities to inform strategic roadmap decisions
- Synthesizing findings from customer interviews, internal stakeholder discussions, and publicly available regulatory guidance into structured product briefs and recommendations
- Auditing existing internal resources — such as product collateral libraries, backlog trackers, and compliance artifact repositories — to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and improvement opportunities
- Designing and populating structured tracking frameworks (e.g., account health trackers, backlog prioritization matrices, or AI project registries) that improve team visibility and operational efficiency
- Mapping product capabilities and initiatives to strategic business goals, helping the team maintain alignment between roadmap investments and measurable customer outcomes
- Preparing clear, concise documentation including gap analyses, competitive landscape summaries, and go-to-market messaging drafts for review by senior product leadership
- Collaborating with Product Managers, Product Owners, and cross-functional partners to support sprint planning, PI briefing preparation, and backlog grooming activities
- Presenting a final internship project deliverable to the AML Product leadership team, demonstrating research findings, recommendations, and a proposed path forward
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiarity with product management concepts, including roadmaps, backlogs, user stories, and agile/scrum methodologies
- Exposure to enterprise software, SaaS platforms, or financial technology through coursework, personal projects, or prior internship experience
- Interest in Artificial Intelligence, machine learning applications, or AI governance frameworks and how they are applied within regulated industries
- Experience with data organization, research synthesis, or structured analysis, such as building trackers, writing reports, or conducting competitive benchmarking
What We’re Looking For
- Curiosity and eagerness to learn
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
- Interest in leveraging new technologies (including AI tools) to build better systems
Eligibility Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Economics, or a related field
- Cumulative 3.0 GPA or above
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for data organization, analysis, and presentation
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Teams, Word, and SharePoint
- Ability to work independently and in collaboration with other team members
- Excellent communication skills, ability to engage with all levels within the organization
- Must be able to commute to office location 4 days per week

Verify your CIP code before applying
Your STEM OPT eligibility depends on your degree's Classification of Instructional Programs code appearing on USCIS's designated STEM list. Confirm your CIP code with your DSO before targeting intern roles so you don't pursue positions under an ineligible degree classification.
Check E-Verify enrollment before accepting offers
Not every company that posts intern roles is enrolled in E-Verify. Search the E-Verify employer search tool by company name before signing anything. A company that isn't enrolled cannot legally employ you on STEM OPT, regardless of how willing they are to hire you.
Target companies with existing OPT hiring patterns
Use Migrate Mate to filter intern listings by employers who have previously sponsored or employed STEM OPT students. Companies with that history already understand I-983 training plan requirements and E-Verify obligations, which shortens your onboarding timeline significantly.
Draft your I-983 training plan before your start date
Your employer must complete and sign Form I-983 before you begin work on STEM OPT. Bring a partially drafted plan to your offer conversations so hiring managers understand the scope upfront and your start date isn't delayed by an unfamiliar HR process.
Map intern duties directly to your degree field
USCIS requires that your internship work be directly related to your STEM degree, not just adjacent to it. During interviews, document how your daily tasks connect to your academic program so your I-983 learning objectives are defensible if your training plan is ever reviewed.
Understand cap-gap timing if you're applying for H-1B
If your employer files an H-1B petition on your behalf while you're interning on STEM OPT, cap-gap rules may extend your work authorization through September 30 of that year. Confirm your OPT end date with your DSO so there's no gap between your STEM OPT expiration and cap-gap coverage.

Find Intern JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Can I work as an intern on STEM OPT?
Yes, intern roles qualify for STEM OPT as long as the internship is directly related to your STEM degree field and your employer is enrolled in E-Verify. Your DSO must authorize the STEM OPT extension on your I-20 before you begin, and your employer must complete Form I-983 with you before your first day of work.
How do I confirm my employer is enrolled in E-Verify?
Use the E-Verify employer search function to look up the hiring company by name before accepting an offer. Enrollment status isn't always visible on a job posting, so search directly rather than relying on what a recruiter tells you. If the company doesn't appear in the E-Verify database, they're not eligible to employ you on STEM OPT, and you'll need to find an alternative employer.
What STEM degrees qualify me for intern roles on STEM OPT?
Your degree must fall under a CIP code listed on USCIS's designated STEM degree list. Common qualifying fields include computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, biology, chemistry, mathematics, and data science. Confirm your specific CIP code with your DSO and cross-reference it against the USCIS STEM list before applying, since some interdisciplinary or professional degrees have codes that don't appear on the list.
Where can I find intern jobs that accept STEM OPT students?
Migrate Mate lists intern roles filtered by employers who meet E-Verify enrollment requirements, so you can identify companies that are already set up to hire STEM OPT students. Searching there saves you from spending time on applications to companies that can't legally employ you under your current work authorization status.
What happens to my STEM OPT authorization if my internship ends before my extension expires?
If your internship ends, your STEM OPT authorization remains valid for the duration of your authorized extension period, but you have a 60-day unemployment buffer to find new qualifying employment. You cannot work during that buffer, only job search. If you don't secure a new STEM OPT-eligible role within 60 days, you'll need to change status or depart the U.S. Notify your DSO immediately when employment ends.
