About the Role
We’re expanding fast and need a hunter-minded Business Development Representative to win and grow corporate fleet accounts, police rotations, and other large opportunities across the Savannah port ecosystems. You’ll own the full sales cycle—from territory planning and prospecting to bids/RFPs, contracts, go-live, and quarterly business reviews—working tightly with Operations, Dispatch, Safety, and Finance.
What You’ll Do
- Build and execute a territory plan targeting: national/regional fleets, drayage & logistics carriers, LTL hubs, OEM/heavy-equipment dealers, rental/construction, property managers/insurance/TPAs, and public-sector rotations.
- Prospect with a disciplined cadence (email/call/LinkedIn/site visits), maintain a healthy top-of-funnel, and advance deals through defined CRM stages.
- Lead municipal/rotation pursuits: track bid calendars, attend pre-bids, prepare compliant packages (equipment, staffing, insurance, yard security), and manage inspections.
- Run discovery & site walks to validate coverage windows, after-hours needs, invoicing/portal requirements, and terminal access rules (TWIC, escorts, inductions).
- Build solutions with clear rate cards, SLAs, and start-up plans; align with Ops/Dispatch on capacity and response-time commitments before quoting.
- Orchestrate pilot/go-live checklists; run 14/30/60/90-day reviews; conduct QBRs with executive buyers.
- Keep pristine CRM hygiene and weekly forecast; report pipeline, activity, wins, and risks.
- Gather competitive intel (rates, service gaps, new entrants) and feed it back to leadership.
You Bring
- 5–8+ years of B2B new-logo sales in logistics, towing/recovery, industrial services, or public-sector/municipal contracting with consistent quota attainment.
- Hands-on experience with RFPs/IFBs (pre-bids, spec reading, submissions, protest windows).
- Port operations fluency (Charleston & Savannah preferred): terminal access, safety inductions, gate/escort rules; TWIC-eligible.
- Business acumen: price/GP thinking, contract terms, and collections basics; strong cross-functional habits with Ops/Dispatch/Safety.
- Tools: CRM proficiency; strong writing for proposals; clean MVR; willingness to do after-hours ride-alongs/site walks when required.
Nice to Have
- Existing relationships across terminal operators, drayage carriers, and municipal procurement.
- Familiarity with Towbook/telematics data (e.g., Samsara) and bid/portal workflows.
How Success Is Measured
- New logos and rotation awards (by class/jurisdiction).
- First-year gross profit (GP) on new business; realized rate vs. rate card; pilot/go-live SLA attainment.
- Activity discipline: first meetings, site walks, proposals, bids submitted; forecast accuracy.
- DSO/collections quality on new accounts.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $50,000–$65,000 (DOE).
- Variable Compensation (uncapped): Commissioned primarily on first-year GP for new logos, plus award bonuses for police rotations and quality metrics (realized rate, SLA, collections).
- Illustrative OTE: $120,000–$150,000+ with accelerators for over-plan performance (top performers can earn more).

Work Location & Schedule
- Field-based across Savannah, GA and surrounding markets; 40–60% regional travel.
- Monday–Friday with occasional nights/weekends for pre-bids, pilots, and customer/agency needs.
