ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under general supervision, the Supply Chain Associate I performs core supply chain operations including receiving, distribution, replenishment, and inventory management across the healthcare environment. This entry-level role ensures timely product availability through accurate transaction processing, automated supply system support, and responsive customer service. The Associate I follows established procedures to maintain supply continuity and support safe, efficient patient care operations while building foundational supply chain knowledge and operational proficiency.
Inventory & Replenishment - 70%
- Maintain appropriate stock levels using automated inventory systems and established PAR levels.
- Restock storerooms, supply carts, and automated dispensing cabinets (e.g., Omnicell).
- Perform routine inventory counts and support physical inventory activities.
- Ensure accurate product labeling, bin organization, and storage compliance.
- Escalate inventory issues, stockouts, or system discrepancies as appropriate.
- Utilize inventory management and ERP systems to support data integrity.
Operational Support - 15%
- Deliver supplies, equipment, and special requests throughout the facility.
- Respond to urgent and STAT supply needs in a timely manner.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe storage and supply areas.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives related to inventory accuracy and workflow efficiency.
- May be required to flex to varied shifts as operational needs apply.
Receiving & Distribution - 15%
- Receive, inspect, unload, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and delivery documentation.
- Document and promptly report discrepancies, damages, or shortages.
- Accurately process receipts in materials management systems.
- Prepare and distribute delivery documentation for departmental sign-off.
- Coordinate outbound shipments and vendor returns using approved processes.
- Maintain accurate records for receiving, distribution, and inventory transactions.
Performs Other Duties as Assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or Experience Required:
- Education: High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Experience:
- One (1) to two (2) years of experience in supply chain, logistics, warehouse operations, or healthcare distribution.
- Experience working in automated inventory environments.
Education and/or Experience Preferred:
- Experience in healthcare supply chain.
- Experience with automated supply systems (e.g., Omnicell).
License and/or Certification Preferred:
- Supply chain certification (e.g., Certified Materials & Resource Professional – CMRP).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of:
- Basic inventory management systems and ERP platforms (e.g., Oracle, Omnicell).
- Fundamental logistics and distribution workflows.
- Healthcare safety and supply handling standards.
Skills:
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Attention to detail and data entry accuracy.
- Effective written and verbal communication.
- Customer service and teamwork orientation.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and inventory software.
Ability to:
- Work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
