About this role: Gartner is looking for an analyst to provide research and advisory to global clients in the US and EMEA. You are likely to have experience as a Procurement Technology Leader or an IT Leader serving Procurement, work for technology vendors in the Procurement Tech space, or work as a system integrator/ consultant helping implement and optimize procurement technology. Your experience will include helping Executives transform their Procurement digital ambitions into actual digital capabilities and achieve best-in-class performance. Topics that would be expected to be covered include:
- Technologies impactful to procurement: System knowledge should include areas like source-to-pay (S2P) suites, enterprise contract life cycle management (CLM), spend analysis, procurement intake, procurement orchestration, sourcing, and data & analytics in procurement.
- How to best select Procurement & CLM technology vendors
- How to develop a successful Procurement technology vision and strategy
- How to transform Procurement digital capabilities
- How will the Procurement technology market evolve, including the impact of emerging technologies
- AI’s impact on the future of procurement
- How to plan for and facilitate the implementation of procurement & CLM technology
- How to deploy effective change management for procurement technology, including AI
What you will do: You will work with a collaborative team of highly experienced experts to build pragmatic and authoritative research and advice that directly addresses the priorities and challenges of clients aligned to the procurement technology sector. The focus is helping clients understand the impact of technology on their procurement function and helping them to select and use the best fit technology vendors for their procurement organization. You will primarily support procurement leaders, application leaders who support procurement, technology vendors and providers, consultants and investors. You will be writing research and represent thought leadership by providing advice to Procurement technology leaders, Chief Procurement Officers, and their teams on:
- How to use AI to improve automation in sourcing and procurement.
- Emerging analytics capabilities to improve my source-to-pay processes.
- Value drivers in the business case for sourcing and procurement applications.
- Creating a technology roadmap that best aligns with the business objectives.
- How to select best-fit technology vendors within the Source-to-Pay (S2P) market landscape
- How to plan for, resource, and manage a procurement technology implementation
- How to drive adoption and achieve desired return-on-investment for procurement technology
Keys to success will include:
- Remaining ahead of the curve on developments and issues within these specified areas as well as applicable adjacent areas of procurement applications.
- Delivering high quality actionable advice through presentations and inquiry calls, and discussions with clients
- Write high quality, clear, actionable, advisory research documents
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Graduate degree preferred
- 12+ years of experience working with various procurement application vendors and technologies associated with delivering successful procurement experiences.
- Extensive Sourcing and Procurement application implementation or administration experience
- Strong familiarity with solutions from major technology providers such as Coupa, SAP Ariba, GEP, Jaggaer, and Ivalua is required.
- Experience developing and deploying an AI strategy for procurement is preferred.
- Experience implementing and administering CLM software, and a familiarity with major technology providers such as Docusign, Icertis, Ironclad, and Agiloft.
- An ability to articulate the role procurement and sourcing technology plays in delivering business value.
- Experience leading strategic transformation projects that focus on digital enablement.
- A perspective on what emerging technologies are most relevant for procurement and how they will impact the procurement function.

Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
