Real Estate Manager Jobs in Connecticut: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a real estate manager in Connecticut?
You must hold an active Connecticut Real Estate Broker license, issued by the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection, to manage properties for others for compensation. Candidates typically earn a bachelor's degree in real estate, business, or a related field, then satisfy Connecticut's pre-licensing education hours, pass the state broker exam, and meet the experience requirement. Earning a Certified Property Manager designation strengthens candidacy for senior portfolio roles.
How much do real estate managers make in Connecticut?
Real estate managers in Connecticut earn a median of about $73,940 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $47,170 for the lowest 10% to over $130,950 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire real estate managers in Connecticut?
Connecticut real estate manager roles are posted by Jobot, ROVI Homes, and Valerie King Team and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Connecticut's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, hospital systems, and large university campuses means corporate real estate and institutional property management are among the most active hiring categories in the state.
Which Connecticut cities have the most real estate manager jobs?
Hartford, Stamford, and Connecticut account for the greatest share of real estate manager openings in Connecticut. Hartford draws demand from insurance headquarters and state government facilities, Stamford's dense corporate office market generates consistent commercial portfolio roles, and New Haven's anchor institutions, including Yale University and Yale New Haven Health, sustain a steady need for both facilities and asset managers.
Are there remote real estate manager jobs in Connecticut?
Yes, but they're rare. Real estate managers routinely conduct site inspections, vendor meetings, and tenant walkthroughs that require a physical presence. About 45% of real estate manager openings tied to Connecticut are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions tend to cover asset management, lease administration, or financial reporting functions that can be handled off-site.
How can I get hired as a real estate manager in Connecticut with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a property coordinator or leasing consultant role at a Connecticut-based residential management company or commercial REIT, where you build portfolio exposure before moving into a manager title. Large institutional employers like Yale University and Hartford HealthCare post property administrator openings that serve as direct pipelines. Obtaining your Connecticut Real Estate Salesperson license early signals commitment and removes a barrier most employers raise at the first screening stage.
Where can I find and apply to real estate manager jobs in Connecticut?
