Real Estate Manager Jobs in Massachusetts: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a real estate manager in Massachusetts?
Most real estate manager roles in Massachusetts require or strongly prefer a Massachusetts Real Estate Broker or Salesperson license, issued through the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Real Estate Brokers and Salespersons. Candidates typically complete state-approved pre-licensing coursework, pass the licensing exam, and hold a bachelor's degree in business, real estate, or a related field. Professional designations such as the Certified Property Manager credential can also strengthen a candidacy significantly.
How much do real estate managers make in Massachusetts?
Real estate managers in Massachusetts earn a median of about $103,410 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $62,070 for the lowest 10% to over $181,430 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire real estate managers in Massachusetts?
Employers hiring real estate managers in Massachusetts right now include ROVI Homes, Chinatti Realty, and The Baldwin, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Massachusetts also sees consistent hiring from large institutional property owners, hospital systems, and universities that manage significant real estate portfolios across Greater Boston and beyond.
Which Massachusetts cities have the most real estate manager jobs?
Boston, Marlborough, and Massachusetts have the most real estate manager openings in Massachusetts. Boston drives the largest share given its density of commercial real estate firms, corporate headquarters, and major institutional owners, while Cambridge draws demand from its university and biotech campuses, and Worcester reflects the region's growing mixed-use and healthcare-adjacent development activity.
Are there remote real estate manager jobs in Massachusetts?
Yes, but they're rare. Real estate management is a largely on-site role requiring regular property inspections, tenant meetings, and vendor oversight. About 72% of real estate manager openings tied to Massachusetts are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions tend to concentrate in corporate real estate strategy or portfolio analytics functions rather than hands-on property operations.
How can I get hired as a real estate manager in Massachusetts with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is an assistant property manager or leasing coordinator role at a Boston-area management firm or institutional landlord, where you gain hands-on portfolio exposure. Large Massachusetts employers such as CBRE and Greystar regularly bring on associates and coordinators without full management experience. Obtaining your Massachusetts Real Estate Salesperson license early and building familiarity with Yardi or MRI software gives candidates a clear edge over other entry-level applicants.
Where can I find and apply to real estate manager jobs in Massachusetts?
You can find and apply to real estate manager jobs in Massachusetts on Migrate Mate, which lists current Massachusetts openings updated regularly. Find roles that match your experience and location preference and apply directly to the employers posting them.
