ABOUT THE ROLE
The Manager, Procurement & Planning leads all procurement (direct and indirect) and site-level supply chain planning activities for the Eden Prairie manufacturing facility. This role manages a team of buyers and planners to ensure material availability, effective production planning, and on-time shipment execution, while driving strategies that support short- and long-term business objectives. The role maintains compliance with company policies and quality standards and partners closely with operations, engineering, quality, finance, and corporate teams to deliver strong site performance and meet customer commitments.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Leadership
- Lead, develop, and coach team responsible for procurement and planning functions
- Recruit, onboard, and train team members to build a high-performing organization
- Evaluate and develop employee performance through the BMT talent development process; establish clear metrics and drive accountability
- Lead supply chain-related initiatives, including product launches, line extensions, and process improvements
- Provide procurement and planning leadership within site operating mechanisms
- Partner cross-functionally with operations, engineering, quality, and finance to align priorities and execution; communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Act as site lead for ERP planning and purchasing system utilization, ensuring effective use, compliance, and process discipline
- Champion continuous improvement to enhance processes, systems, efficiency, cost, and service levels
Procurement
- Lead all site procurement activities, including sourcing, purchasing, and supplier management for direct and indirect materials and services supporting Eden Prairie Capital Equipment Manufacturing
- Support non-inventory procurement across the site, ensuring effective processes, service levels, and compliance with Bracco Global Procurement policies
- Develop and execute purchasing strategies aligned with demand volumes, cost targets, and working capital objectives
- Establish delivery schedules and order strategies to ensure material availability across production and service while optimizing inventory and cash flow
- Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers; build and maintain strong partnerships with key suppliers
- Oversee supplier selection, onboarding, negotiations, and contract execution in close partnership with Legal
- Manage supplier performance, including monitoring, issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Partner with suppliers to resolve quality or delivery issues and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Assess, manage, and mitigate supply chain risks to ensure continuity of supply
- Collaborate cross-functionally with warehouse, production, and operations teams to support effective material management
- Drive compliance with Bracco Global Procurement and Quality policies and requirements
Site Supply Chain Planning
- Lead and oversee site supply chain planning activities for in-house manufacturing of capital equipment, accessories, and service parts, including MRP execution, production planning, materials and inventory planning, and supply and distribution planning.
- Provide direction and prioritization to the Supply Chain Planner(s) responsible for daily execution of MRP accuracy, purchase signals, and production support activities
- Monitor and improve MRP data integrity and system accuracy to ensure effective planning and execution outcomes
- Identify and resolve material and production constraints, escalating systemic issues and driving long-term corrective actions
- Oversee the development and maintenance of the site build plan in coordination with procurement, operations engineering, and manufacturing teams
- Support global supply planning and distribution activities as they relate to site execution and customer & region fulfillment
- Ensure alignment between production schedules, material availability, and customer shipment requirements to support on-time delivery performance
- Partner closely with Corporate Supply Chain to align site execution with broader strategic and global supply objectives, including S&OP / IBP processes
- Drive continuous improvement in planning processes to improve service levels, reduce variability, and increase supply chain responsiveness
QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
Minimum
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field is preferred. In lieu of degree, 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in purchasing, planning, supply chain, or manufacturing operations, including supervisory or leadership experience, may be considered
- 5+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain planning, materials management, or operations within a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of MRP systems, production planning, and materials flow in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to develop and maintain business partner relationships across all levels both within and outside of the organization
- Strong analytical skills with ability to solve complex problems
- Knowledge of FDA & ISO requirements
- Demonstrated Leadership skills and ability to influence and drive change both internally and externally
- Ability to travel both domestically and internationally up to 15% of the time
Preferred:
- Proven experience managing both direct and indirect procurement activities in a production or site-based setting
- 5+ years SAP experience
- ISM or APICS Certified
- Contract negotiation knowledge and experience
- Lean/Continuous Improvement knowledge and experience
Compensation & Total Rewards:
Estimated Starting Salary Range: $120,000 - $130,000
Estimated Starting Salary Range is reflective of the range Bracco Medical Technologies reasonably expects to pay for the position. The range provided is based on salary and market data specific to the position.
