Description
American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with at least 3 years of OR experience, including charge experience, for a night shift position at a busy, high-acuity Magnet teaching hospital.
Details
- Hospital-based OR setting at a 637-bed Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital
- High-acuity environment with an average daily census of 50–75 patients across 28 OR rooms
- Patient population includes orthopedic/sports (limited total joints), minimally invasive arthroscopic and laparoscopic cases, robotics, general, GYN, urology, and plastics
- Floating to other specialties within the hospital when census is low; no floating to sister hospitals
- Night shift schedule: 4x10-hour shifts, 21:00–07:30
- No call requirements and no weekend requirements
- Charting via Epic (preferred, not required)
- Scrubs are provided for OR personnel in any color
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of CST/OR surgical tech experience
- Charge experience required
- BLS certification required
- COVID vaccination and booster required — no exceptions
- Active WA state license required; pending license is not accepted
- License required if applicable
- At least 2 travel experiences beyond initial hospital placement preferred
- Teaching hospital and trauma hospital experience preferred
- Experience with neuro, spine, thoracic, and vascular cases is a plus
- Epic EMR experience preferred but not required
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rates with no radius restriction
- RTO is limited to 1 week maximum and cannot be requested during orientation week; keep RTO to a minimum
- Prior UW staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 18 months before returning as a traveler
- The facility is a Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital with a high-acuity surgical environment
- Holiday coverage: the facility does not schedule travelers during weekends or holidays when surgical services areas are closed
