HYBRID WORK AT STRIPE
This role is available either in an office or a remote location (35+ miles or 56+ km from a Stripe office).
IN-OFFICE EXPECTATIONS
Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.
WORKING REMOTELY AT STRIPE
A remote location is defined as being 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from one of our offices. While you would be welcome to come into the office for team/business meetings, on-sites, meet-ups, and events, our expectation is you would regularly work from home rather than a Stripe office. Stripe does not cover the cost of relocating to a remote location. We encourage you to apply for roles that match the location where you currently live or plan to live.
PAY AND BENEFITS
The annual US base salary range for this role is $100,500 - $150,700. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.
Additional benefits for this role may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; 401(k) plan; medical, dental, and vision benefits; and wellness stipends.

Tax Consultant Jobs in San Francisco: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a tax consultant job in San Francisco?
The strongest path into San Francisco's tax consultant market is targeting the city's dense concentration of technology companies, venture-backed startups, and financial services firms in the Financial District and SoMa. Big Four and regional accounting firms maintain large San Francisco offices and hire consistently. Candidates with CPA credentials, experience in multistate tax compliance, or a background in pass-through entity taxation for partnerships and S-corps stand out most in this market.
Which companies hire tax consultants in San Francisco?
Employers hiring tax consultants in San Francisco right now include KPMG, EisnerAmper, and PwC, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. The local market mixes national accounting firms with in-house tax teams at publicly traded technology companies and private equity-backed businesses headquartered in the city.
Are there remote tax consultant jobs in San Francisco?
Yes, though availability varies by specialization since client-facing advisory and audit-support work often requires in-person presence. About 13% of tax consultant openings tied to San Francisco are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with fully remote roles most common in corporate tax compliance and tax technology consulting rather than transactional or local entity work.
How can I get a tax consultant job in San Francisco with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is joining a Big Four or regional firm's San Francisco office as a tax associate or staff accountant, where structured training programs onboard candidates with accounting degrees directly. San Francisco's startup ecosystem also hires junior tax analysts to support rapid-growth finance teams. Internships at local firms during tax season, familiarity with California's franchise tax rules, and progress toward the CPA exam all strengthen entry-level applications in this market.
Which industries hire the most tax consultants in San Francisco?
The sectors hiring the most tax consultants in San Francisco are Accounting & Auditing, Technology & Software, and Consulting & Professional Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. San Francisco's concentration of technology headquarters, asset management firms, and venture capital funds drives particularly high demand for consultants with expertise in equity compensation tax, fund taxation, and international compliance.
