Entry Level Technical Director Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level technical director job?
Start by building a portfolio that shows you can lead a technical project from concept to delivery, even on a small scale. Employers hiring at this level look for candidates who demonstrate cross-functional communication, familiarity with production workflows or technical systems, and at least one example of owning a deliverable end to end. Internship experience, capstone projects, or freelance work all count.
Which companies hire entry level technical directors?
Companies hiring entry level technical directors right now include Labcorp, Pinterest, and Brevard College, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. The mix tends to include production companies, technology firms, and media organizations that build junior technical leadership roles into their hiring pipelines to develop talent from the ground up.
Are there remote entry level technical director jobs?
Yes, though on-site roles still dominate at this level. About 0% of entry level technical director openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, giving candidates outside major media or tech hubs a realistic shot at landing their first role without relocating.
Are these new grad technical director jobs?
Yes, this page includes new grad, recent graduate, and junior technical director roles alongside other entry level postings. A new grad friendly listing typically welcomes zero to two years of experience and accepts internships, academic projects, or a portfolio in place of full-time work history. Look for postings that list internship experience as sufficient or that explicitly encourage recent graduates to apply.
Which industries hire the most entry level technical directors?
Entry Level technical director roles concentrate in Education, Technology & Software, and Healthcare & Medical Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026.
