Technical Intern Jobs in Phoenix: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a technical intern job in Phoenix?
Focus your search on Phoenix's semiconductor, aerospace, and defense sectors, where internship pipelines are well-established and hiring is consistent. The Chandler and Tempe corridors host a high concentration of engineering and manufacturing employers who take on technical interns each semester. Tailoring your application to hands-on technical skills, lab experience, or relevant coursework in engineering or computer science gives you a clear edge in this market.
Which companies hire technical interns in Phoenix?
Companies currently hiring technical interns in Phoenix include ASM, Walgreens, and First Solar, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Phoenix's intern market includes a wide range of employers, from large semiconductor fabs and aerospace primes to fast-growing software firms headquartered in the East Valley.
Are there remote technical intern jobs in Phoenix?
Yes, though remote availability depends heavily on the role, since technical intern positions often require on-site lab, hardware, or manufacturing work. About 29% of technical intern openings tied to Phoenix are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with those options most common in software development and data analytics roles rather than in engineering or production environments.
How can I get a technical intern job in Phoenix with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Phoenix is through university co-op programs and internship pipelines connected to Arizona State University in Tempe, which has direct relationships with local semiconductor and aerospace employers. Smaller defense contractors and engineering consultancies in the Mesa and Chandler areas frequently hire early-career candidates for support roles that build into full technical internships. Completing relevant coursework, personal projects, or CAD and coding certifications strengthens your profile considerably for Phoenix employers.
Which industries hire the most technical interns in Phoenix?
Phoenix technical intern roles concentrate in Construction & Real Estate, Medical Devices, and Investment & Asset Management, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Phoenix's long-standing position as a hub for semiconductor fabrication, aerospace systems, and utility-scale infrastructure projects drives consistent intern demand across these sectors year-round.
