This position may require prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, computer work, and occasional exposure to moderate levels of noise, dust, and fumes in production areas.
WHAT TO EXPECT
We're on a mission to unlock the potential of space to improve life on Earth, but that's not an easy task. It takes hard work, determination, relentless innovation, teamwork, grit, and an unwavering commitment to achieving what others often deem impossible. Our people out-think, out-work, and out-pace. We pride ourselves on having each other's backs, checking our egos at the door, and rolling up our sleeves on all tasks big and small. We thrive under pressure, work to tight deadlines, and our focus is always on how we can deliver, rather than dwelling on the challenges that stand in the way.

Test Engineer Jobs in Tucson: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a test engineer job in Tucson?
The strongest path into Tucson's test engineer market runs through defense and aerospace, where contractors clustered near Davis-Monthan Air Force Base and along the Aerospace Parkway hire most heavily. Candidates with hands-on experience in automated test equipment, RF systems, or embedded hardware stand out locally. Familiarity with MIL-STD testing protocols is a genuine edge here, and a security clearance or eligibility for one expands your options considerably in this market.
Which companies hire test engineers in Tucson?
Employers hiring test engineers in Tucson right now include Raytheon, Solidus Technical Solutions, and MKS2 Technologies, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Tucson's hiring base skews heavily toward defense primes, semiconductor fabs, and aerospace systems integrators, with a smaller but growing contingent of optics and photonics firms tied to the University of Arizona research ecosystem.
Are there remote test engineer jobs in Tucson?
Yes, though the opportunity is limited, since test engineering in Tucson often involves physical hardware, defense systems, and lab environments that require on-site presence. About 0% of test engineer openings tied to Tucson are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, which reflects how hands-on most local roles are. The most remote-compatible work tends to be test automation scripting, requirements analysis, and documentation review rather than bench or systems integration work.
How can I get a test engineer job in Tucson with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Tucson is through a defense or aerospace contractor's associate or junior test technician role, which typically requires an associate or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electronics, or a related field rather than prior professional experience. University of Arizona graduates entering systems engineering or ECE programs have a meaningful local pipeline into Raytheon and similar employers. Internships at defense primes convert to full-time offers frequently, and a demonstrated ability to write test scripts or read schematics makes a junior candidate far more competitive.
Which industries hire the most test engineers in Tucson?
Tucson test engineer roles concentrate in Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Tucson's defense spending base and the University of Arizona's optics and engineering programs create a self-reinforcing hiring cycle in those sectors, drawing both established primes and smaller specialized suppliers into the local market.
