Primary purpose of the position:
Essential Responsible Areas:
- Complies with established job safety practices, policies, and procedures as specified in plant and corporate directives for the safe performance of the work assignment.
- Supports and follows the guidelines of the food safety system.
- Receives, stores, and handles hazardous and non-hazardous acids, caustics, oils, and other process materials, keeping accurate records of all materials received and shipped.
- Monitors and adjusts wastewater systems and sludge removal for EPA compliance.
- Advises management of any violations of environmental procedures regarding the labeling, storage, or spills of hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
- Performs troubleshooting on production and support equipment as required.
- Performs preventive maintenance on production and support equipment as required.
- Rebuilds, repairs, installs, and troubleshoots diaphragm pumps, centrifugal pumps, and chemical dosing/metering pumps.
- Performs piping installation, repair, modification, and maintenance for chemical-process and support systems.
- Fabricates components, brackets, supports, and other items to improve the safety, organization, accessibility, and functionality of assigned work areas.
- Conducts inspection of in-process materials, in-process product, and finished product.
- Responsible for replenishing supplies, materials, and parts required for assigned area.
- Performs record-keeping duties as required under the direction of management.
- Accesses, inputs, and retrieves information from the computer.
- Supplies and maintains required hand tools.
- May perform various lab chemical functions for assigned area.
- Initiates, reviews, and follows all standard operating procedures (SOPs) for area of responsibility.

Professional & Education Qualification
- High School Diploma or education equivalent required.
- Job-related experience for 2 years minimum.
- Preferred job-related experience of 8 years minimum.
Skills:
- Ability to apply standard evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard chemical process techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- Must be able to handle sensitive related and proprietary information in a confidential manner.
- Performs such individual assignments as management may direct.
- Must follow company policies, procedures, practices, and standards of conduct as outlined in the Ball Corporation manuals.
- Maintains an awareness and complies with hazardous waste management and other environmental management requirements in the workplace by attending scheduled training sessions.
- Thorough understanding of the operating principles of all assigned equipment.
