Assistant Construction Manager Jobs in Arizona

We are looking for a dependable, organized Assistant Project Manager / Assistant Superintendent with hands-on knowledge of cabinetry, millwork, and general construction.

This is a hybrid office-and-field position. The right person needs to be comfortable working on a computer and managing project information, but also needs enough real-world construction knowledge to understand what is happening in the field, identify problems, and communicate effectively with installers, subcontractors, general contractors, vendors, and customers.

This is not strictly an office position. We are looking for someone who understands how construction actually goes together and, ideally, has strong experience with cabinets, millwork, or finish carpentry.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with day-to-day project coordination
• Review plans, drawings, specifications, cabinet layouts, and project documents
• Coordinate cabinetry/millwork production, delivery, installation, and jobsite requirements
• Perform field measurements and verify site conditions
• Communicate with general contractors, superintendents, installers, vendors, and customers
• Track project schedules, deadlines, materials, deliveries, and outstanding items
• Help identify and resolve field conflicts before they become larger problems
• Document jobsite conditions, changes, punch-list items, and project progress
• Assist with RFIs, change orders, submittals, purchase orders, and other project documentation
• Maintain organized electronic project files and correspondence
• Attend jobsite and project coordination meetings as needed
• Help ensure installations meet plans, specifications, quality standards, and schedule requirements
• Follow projects through completion and punch-list closeout

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Strong working knowledge of cabinets, millwork, finish carpentry, and/or general construction
• Ability to read and understand construction plans and drawings
• Comfortable using computers, email, PDFs, spreadsheets, and project-management software
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time
• Ability to communicate professionally with field personnel, contractors, vendors, and customers
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to jobsites throughout the Phoenix metro area
• Willingness to work both in the office and in the field

Preferred:

• Previous experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Coordinator, Assistant Superintendent, Foreman, Cabinet Installer, or similar construction position
• Commercial or residential cabinet/millwork experience
• Experience coordinating cabinet or millwork installations
• Experience with construction project-management software
• Experience with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Bluebeam, Procore, or similar programs
• Understanding of scheduling, purchasing, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and punch lists

The Person We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who can bridge the gap between the office and the field.

You should be comfortable sitting at a computer reviewing drawings, sending emails, updating schedules, and tracking project details—but you should also be able to walk onto a jobsite, look at a cabinet installation or construction condition, understand what you're seeing, and help determine what needs to happen next.

You don't need to know everything on day one, but you do need a solid construction foundation, good judgment, and a willingness to learn.

Pay: $52,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
