Assistant Construction Manager Jobs in Missouri: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become an assistant construction manager in Missouri?
Most assistant construction manager roles in Missouri are entered through a bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or architecture, followed by field experience or an internship. Missouri does not require a state-issued license for this role, but obtaining an OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification and pursuing a Construction Manager in Training credential through the Construction Management Association of America strengthens any application with Missouri contractors.
Which companies hire assistant construction managers in Missouri?
Companies currently hiring assistant construction managers in Missouri include Burns & McDonnell, Olsson, and Rogers, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Missouri's large general contractors and regional developers consistently staff project support roles across Kansas City, St. Louis, and beyond, making them reliable sources of openings throughout the year.
Which Missouri cities have the most assistant construction manager jobs?
St. Louis, Kansas City, and Chesterfield lead Missouri for assistant construction manager openings. Kansas City and St. Louis drive volume through their concentrated commercial development, major healthcare system expansions, and ongoing transportation infrastructure projects, while Springfield's steady regional construction market and growing industrial base support consistent demand for project support professionals.
Are there remote assistant construction manager jobs in Missouri?
Yes, but they're rare. About 17% of assistant construction manager openings tied to Missouri are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how site-dependent this role is by nature. The portions most likely to allow off-site flexibility include submittal coordination, scheduling updates, and document control, rather than the field oversight and subcontractor coordination that define most of the job.
How can I get hired as an assistant construction manager in Missouri with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is an internship or co-op with a Missouri general contractor while completing a construction management or civil engineering degree. Large firms like McCarthy Building Companies and JE Dunn run structured internship programs that frequently convert to full-time hires. Candidates without a degree can enter through field laborer or superintendent assistant roles and pair that experience with an OSHA 30 certification to make the transition into project coordination positions.
Where can I find and apply to assistant construction manager jobs in Missouri?
You can find and apply to assistant construction manager jobs in Missouri on Migrate Mate, which lists current Missouri openings in one place. Search the roles available, find the ones that match your experience and location, and apply directly to the employers posting them.
