Senior Level Therapist Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a senior level therapist job?
Employers hiring at this level look for clinicians who own complex caseloads independently, hold an active license in good standing, and have demonstrated experience supervising or mentoring junior staff. Specialized certifications, such as EMDR, DBT, or trauma-focused training, give candidates a clear edge. Tailor your application to show clinical leadership and measurable client outcomes, not just years of practice.
Which companies hire senior level therapists?
Companies hiring senior level therapists right now include Rehab Employee Services, Ivyrehab Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy & Speech-Language Pathology, Pllc, and Rehab Employee Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a range of employers, including large behavioral health systems, multi-site outpatient groups, and integrated healthcare organizations that need experienced clinicians to lead clinical teams and carry high-acuity caseloads.
Are there remote senior level therapist jobs?
Yes, though availability varies by setting and specialization. About 0% of senior level therapist openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with telehealth platforms and outpatient behavioral health practices driving most of that demand. In-person roles remain common in hospitals, residential programs, and settings requiring direct clinical supervision of junior staff.
What makes a therapist role senior level?
Senior level therapist roles are defined by clinical ownership and scope. Clinicians at this level carry complex or high-acuity caseloads with limited oversight, lead intake or treatment team decisions, and are expected to supervise or mentor associate or junior therapists. The role often includes program input, quality assurance responsibilities, or coordination across disciplines, well beyond direct service delivery alone.
