Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Procurement Assistant
Align your credentials to USMCA categories
TN visa eligibility for Procurement Assistants falls under the Management Consultant category, which requires a degree in business administration, supply chain, or a closely related field. Gather official transcripts and, if your degree title is ambiguous, a credential evaluation letter.
Target employers with recent visa filing experience
Search for employers with recent visa filings in procurement or supply chain roles. Prior experience with work visa sponsorship signals a company already understands visa compliance and employer obligations, making them more likely to prepare the required support letter efficiently for your TN application.
Request a TN support letter before your start date
Your employer must provide a detailed support letter describing the professional role, your qualifications, and the temporary nature of employment. Get this document finalized at least two weeks before your planned entry date or consular appointment to avoid delays.
Clarify your role's specialty occupation framing early
Procurement Assistant titles can raise questions at the port of entry if the job description resembles clerical work. Ask your employer to clearly document that the role requires specialized knowledge in vendor negotiation, contract analysis, or supply chain systems, not just administrative support.
Search for TN-ready roles using Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter procurement job listings by employers with active TN and USMCA sponsorship history. This focuses your search on companies already equipped to process TN paperwork, reducing back-and-forth with HR about whether sponsorship is possible.
Prepare for Canadian port-of-entry adjudication
Canadian citizens can receive TN status directly at a U.S. land border or preclearance airport. Bring your support letter, degree credentials, and a copy of your job offer. CBP officers adjudicate on the spot, so incomplete documents result in immediate denial with no appeal window.

Find Procurement Assistant JobsProcurement Assistant TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Procurement Assistant role qualify for TN visa status?
Procurement Assistant positions can qualify under the TN Management Consultant category if the role requires a bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related discipline and involves specialized analytical or advisory work. Roles framed primarily as clerical or administrative support may not meet the specialty occupation threshold, so your employer's support letter must clearly articulate the professional nature of the duties.
How does TN visa sponsorship compare to H-1B for procurement roles?
TN sponsorship for procurement roles is faster and more predictable than H-1B. There is no annual lottery, no cap for Canadian citizens, and Canadian applicants can receive status at the port of entry on the same day. H-1B registration opens once per year with a competitive lottery and a multi-month USCIS processing window. For professionals from Canada or Mexico, TN is almost always the faster path to starting work.
Can a Mexican citizen get TN sponsorship for a Procurement Assistant job?
Yes, Mexican citizens qualify for TN status under USMCA but must apply through a U.S. consulate in Mexico rather than at the port of entry. The employer's support letter and your credentials must be presented at the consular interview. USCIS does not adjudicate TN petitions for Mexican nationals; the consular officer has final authority.
Where can I find Procurement Assistant jobs that offer TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Canadian and Mexican professionals seeking U.S. jobs with TN visa sponsorship. You can search and filter procurement roles by employers who have demonstrated willingness to support USMCA-based work authorization, which cuts out the time spent cold-approaching companies unfamiliar with TN requirements.
What happens if my Procurement Assistant TN status is denied at the border?
A TN denial at a U.S. port of entry is not a permanent bar, but you cannot appeal on the spot. CBP will document the reason for refusal, and you may reapply with a corrected support letter or stronger credential documentation. Common denial reasons include a job description that reads as clerical rather than professional, or a mismatch between your degree field and the stated duties.
