Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Project Management Coordinator
Align your credentials to USMCA categories
Project Management Coordinators must qualify under the Management Consultant category, which requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Gather your official transcripts, degree certificates, and any PMP or CAPM credentials before applying.
Target employers with cross-border hiring experience
Focus on mid-size and large organizations that have filed TN petitions before. Companies with Canadian or Mexican parent entities often have HR teams already familiar with USMCA sponsorship requirements for coordinator-level roles.
Request a support letter before your border crossing
Canadian professionals presenting at a port of entry need a detailed employer support letter describing the project management coordinator duties, the specialized nature of the work, and your qualifying degree. A generic offer letter is rarely sufficient and can result in a denial.
Use Migrate Mate to find sponsoring employers
Searching broadly for project management jobs buries TN-specific openings. Migrate Mate filters roles by visa sponsorship type so you reach employers already open to USMCA-based hiring for coordinator positions without cold-filtering hundreds of postings manually.
Prepare for specialty occupation scrutiny at the offer stage
Employers sometimes classify coordinators as administrative rather than professional roles. Before accepting an offer, confirm the job description explicitly ties your duties to a specialized body of knowledge, which CBP officers evaluate when assessing TN eligibility.
Understand Mexican citizens face a separate consular timeline
Mexican professionals cannot self-petition at the border and must schedule a consular interview. Build at least six to eight weeks into your start date negotiation to account for appointment availability and document review at the U.S. consulate.

Find Project Management Coordinator JobsProject Management Coordinator TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Project Management Coordinator role qualify for a TN visa?
It depends on how the role is structured. TN classification typically applies under the Management Consultant category, which requires that the position involves applying specialized expertise to organizational or operational problems, not just scheduling or administrative coordination. Your employer's job description needs to reflect that specialized professional scope clearly, and your degree must align with the duties described.
How does the TN visa compare to H-1B for Project Management Coordinator roles?
The TN visa has no annual lottery and no cap for Canadian citizens, making it far more predictable than the H-1B for qualifying roles. H-1B registrations are subject to random selection each spring, meaning you could wait a year or more before getting a slot. TN status for Canadians can be granted at the port of entry on the same day, while Mexican citizens go through consular processing with a separate limited allocation under USMCA.
What documents does my employer need to provide for TN sponsorship?
Your employer needs to provide a signed support letter on company letterhead that describes the specific project management coordinator duties, confirms the professional and specialized nature of the work, states your anticipated start date and compensation, and identifies the USMCA category under which you qualify. CBP officers at the border or consular officers reviewing your application will scrutinize this letter closely, so vague or generic language can trigger questions or a denial.
How can I find Project Management Coordinator jobs that offer TN visa sponsorship?
Most job postings don't specify TN sponsorship by name, which makes filtering difficult on general platforms. Migrate Mate is built specifically for USMCA and other work visa categories, so you can search for project management coordinator openings where employers have indicated they'll support TN visa filing. That removes the manual work of screening hundreds of postings to find the small subset open to Canadian and Mexican professionals.
Can I switch employers while on a TN visa as a Project Management Coordinator?
Yes, but you need to initiate a new TN authorization tied to the new employer before or at the time you start working there. Your existing TN status is employer-specific, so simply accepting a new offer doesn't transfer your authorization. Canadian citizens can typically process a new TN at the port of entry, while Mexican citizens need to apply for a new visa stamp at a U.S. consulate, which requires scheduling an appointment and allowing for processing time.
