Verify your ARRT credential equivalency first
U.S. employers require ARRT eligibility or certification for TN sponsorship. If you trained in Canada or Mexico, confirm your credential maps to ARRT standards before applying, since sponsoring employers won't initiate the process without this verification.
Target hospital systems with imaging departments
Large hospital networks and outpatient imaging centers file TN support letters regularly. Focus your search on facilities with radiology or diagnostic imaging departments, as they understand the credential requirements and are more likely to sponsor.
Request a support letter before crossing the border
Canadian professionals can gain TN status at a port of entry, but you must arrive with an employer support letter describing your role, credentials, and that the position qualifies as Radiologic Technologist under USMCA. Without it, CBP will turn you away.
Clarify modality scope in your offer documentation
TN support letters must accurately describe your duties. If your role covers CT, MRI, or fluoroscopy in addition to general radiography, make sure the employer's letter reflects your actual modalities to avoid CBP scrutiny over scope of practice.
Search Migrate Mate to find TN-ready employers
Use Migrate Mate to identify employers actively hiring Radiologic Technologists with TN visa sponsorship, so you're not cold-applying to facilities unfamiliar with the process or unwilling to issue a support letter.
Understand Mexican nationals use consular processing
Unlike Canadian citizens, Mexican nationals must schedule a visa interview at a U.S. consulate. Plan for consular processing timelines when negotiating your start date with an employer, since same-day TN status isn't available to you.

Find Radiologic Technologist JobsRadiologic Technologist TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Radiologic Technologist role qualify for TN visa status?
Yes. Radiologic Technologist is explicitly listed as a qualifying TN profession under USMCA. To qualify, you must have the appropriate credentials, typically ARRT certification or eligibility, and a job offer from a U.S. employer whose offer letter confirms the role fits within the defined occupational category.
How does the TN visa compare to H-1B for Radiologic Technologist jobs?
The TN visa has no annual lottery, no cap for Canadian citizens, and can be obtained at a port of entry in a single day. H-1B requires a lottery selection, employer petition filing, and months of USCIS processing. For Radiologic Technologists who qualify under USMCA, TN is a faster and more predictable path to U.S. employment.
Where can I find Radiologic Technologist jobs that offer TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Canadian and Mexican professionals seeking U.S. jobs with TN visa sponsorship. You can search Radiologic Technologist roles filtered by TN eligibility, so you're connecting with employers who are already prepared to issue the support letter and understand the USMCA requirements.
What documents does my employer need to provide for my TN application?
Your employer must provide a support letter on company letterhead that describes your job title, duties, credentials, the TN category being claimed, and your anticipated length of employment. For Canadian citizens, this letter is presented directly to CBP at the border. For Mexican nationals, it accompanies your DS-160 and consular interview documents.
Can I switch Radiologic Technologist employers while on TN status?
Yes, but you cannot start working for a new employer until TN status reflecting that employer is in place. Canadian citizens can go to a port of entry and obtain new TN status for the new employer in one visit. Mexican nationals need to apply for a new TN visa at a U.S. consulate before beginning work with the new facility.
