Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Sourcing
Frame your credentials around TN-eligible categories
Sourcing roles don't have a dedicated TN category, so your offer letter must map your duties to Industrial Engineer or Management Consultant. Align your resume and degree to the specific category your employer will claim before applying.
Target companies with recent visa filing experience
Employers with recent visa filings demonstrate familiarity with work visa sponsorship processes. Prioritize procurement and supply chain teams at manufacturers, retailers, and logistics firms—roles that commonly qualify for TN status—especially where employers have sponsored visa workers before.
Use Migrate Mate to find verified TN-sponsoring employers
Search Migrate Mate to identify employers with recent visa filings who hire for sourcing and supply chain roles. Filtering by employers experienced with work visa sponsorship saves weeks of outreach to companies unfamiliar with visa-sponsored hiring.
Prepare a TN support letter before your job search ends
Draft a template support letter with your future employer covering job duties, your Canadian or Mexican citizenship, and the qualifying TN category. Having this ready speeds up the offer-to-entry timeline significantly once an offer is extended.
Clarify port-of-entry versus consular processing with your employer
Canadian citizens can request TN status directly at the U.S. border without a visa stamp. Mexican nationals must apply at a U.S. consulate. Confirm which process applies early so your employer's HR team prepares the correct documentation package.
Negotiate a TN renewal commitment before you accept
TN status is granted in three-year increments with unlimited renewals. Ask your employer to confirm in writing that they'll sponsor renewals, since some companies treat initial TN filing as a one-time accommodation rather than an ongoing commitment.

Find Sourcing JobsSourcing TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does sourcing qualify as a TN visa occupation?
Sourcing is not a standalone TN category, but many sourcing roles qualify under Industrial Engineer or Management Consultant depending on duties. If your position involves process optimization, cost analysis, or vendor strategy at a systems level, your employer can map the role to one of those qualifying categories. Your offer letter must describe duties that fit the USMCA definition.
How does TN visa sponsorship for sourcing compare to H-1B?
TN has no annual lottery and no cap for Canadian citizens, making it far more predictable than H-1B for sourcing roles. H-1B requires a random selection process with a March registration window, while TN can be approved the same day at a port of entry for Canadians. Mexican nationals need consular processing but still avoid the lottery entirely.
What documents does a sourcing employer need to sponsor a TN visa?
Your employer provides a support letter on company letterhead describing your job duties, the qualifying TN category, your Canadian or Mexican citizenship, your degree, and your employment terms. You bring that letter along with your passport, degree credentials, and any professional certifications to the port of entry or consulate. No I-129 petition is required for Canadians at the border.
Where can I find sourcing jobs that offer TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lists sourcing and procurement roles specifically filtered by TN visa sponsorship eligibility, so you can identify employers already familiar with the process. General job boards don't distinguish between companies that understand TN and those that only sponsor H-1B, which means significant time lost in early-stage conversations with unprepared hiring teams.
Can I switch sourcing employers while on TN status?
Yes, but your TN status is tied to your current employer. You must obtain new TN authorization before starting with a new company. Canadian citizens can do this at a port of entry with a new support letter from the incoming employer. Mexican nationals need to return to a U.S. consulate. Plan the transition carefully to avoid a gap in work authorization.
