INTRODUCTION
Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.
Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.
Interested in changing the landscape of artificial intelligence workloads? Join our team where we are building next-generation, high-performance memory solutions for AI. In Micron's AI-optimized Memory Architecture organization, we partner closely with customers to design and deliver memory solutions purpose-built for emerging AI systems and applications.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Member of Technical Staff in the AI-optimized Architecture team, you will contribute to the microarchitecture and design of tightly coupled, high-performance memory for AI. Apply expert knowledge to realize architecture features into silicon, with a strong focus on performance, power, area (PPA) and reliability. This role is ideal for an engineer who combines deep digital design experience with strong architecture intuition, motivated by turning architectural intent into efficient, silicon-proven implementations.
What you'll do:
- Translate architecture requirements into efficient, scalable microarchitectures that optimize systems metrics with ownership from concept through implementation.
- Design, implement, and review SystemVerilog designs for memory systems architectures.
- Perform synthesis and early analysis to estimate and optimize area, power, and timing, and to guide architecture and microarchitecture tradeoffs.
- Compose and maintain clear microarchitecture documentation that aligns design intent across teams.
- Drive technical decisions by evaluating tradeoffs across microarchitecture and implementation constraints.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
What we're looking for:
- Strong experience in digital design and microarchitecture development, including ownership of hardware blocks from specification through implementation.
- Solid understanding of computer and memory system architecture with an ability to reason about SoC-level behavior and tradeoffs.
- Experience with synthesis, and early PPA estimation and optimization.
- Experience in one or more high-level programming languages (e.g., C/C++, Python) and hardware description languages (e.g., SystemVerilog).
- Ability to influence others through deeply technical, data-driven analysis.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
What sets candidates apart:
- Familiarity with memory interfaces and memory systems concepts (reliability, media management, etc.).
- Experience connecting architecture and implementation by influencing architecture features with a clear understanding of RTL cost and feasibility.
- A Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of proven industry experience delivering silicon-demonstrated memory systems and SoC hardware designs on modern foundry nodes.
COMPENSATION
The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:
- $177,000.00 - $309,000.00 a year
Additional compensation may include benefits, bonuses and equity.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Staff AI Product Manager
Align your credentials to the analyst category
TN visa classification for this role hinges on the Computer Systems Analyst category. Your degree must be in computer science, engineering, or a closely related technical field. A degree in business or general management, even with an AI focus, creates classification risk at the port of entry.
Target employers with recent visa filing history
Before applying, look for employers with recent visa filings to confirm they have experience sponsoring work visas for similar technical roles. Employers unfamiliar with TN sponsorship sometimes confuse it with other visa programs and may not understand that TN requires only a support letter—no government filing or prevailing wage requirements—which can lead to hesitation during the hiring process.
Request a support letter before your border crossing
For Canadian professionals, your employer's TN support letter must specify the Computer Systems Analyst category, your degree, and a clear description of how AI product management duties map to systems analysis work. Vague letters are the leading cause of CBP delays.
Clarify product versus engineering scope during hiring
Staff AI PM roles that blend strategy and people management with minimal technical systems work face harder TN scrutiny. Raise the role's technical scope early in the offer process so your employer can accurately frame the position in the support letter they'll present at your port of entry (for Canadian applicants) or U.S. consulate (for Mexican applicants).
Use Migrate Mate to find verified TN-sponsoring employers
Search Migrate Mate to identify Staff AI Product Manager openings at employers with recent visa filings who have sponsored work visas for comparable roles. Leading with employers experienced in visa sponsorship cuts the time spent educating hiring teams about TN eligibility from scratch.
Prepare for I-94 scrutiny on renewals across roles
Each TN renewal is adjudicated independently. If your Staff AI PM scope has shifted toward executive leadership since your last entry, update your support letter to reflect current duties. CBP compares your new letter against prior I-94 admission records and can deny renewal if the role has drifted.
Staff AI Product Manager TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Staff AI Product Manager role qualify for TN visa status?
Yes, if the position is classified under the Computer Systems Analyst category and requires a bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science or engineering. Roles that are primarily strategic, organizational, or leadership-focused without substantial systems analysis duties can face pushback at the port of entry or consulate, so the job description framing matters significantly.
How does TN compare to H-1B for Staff AI Product Manager positions?
TN has no annual cap and no lottery, so Canadian professionals can secure status the same day at a port of entry. H-1B visa requires employer sponsorship through a lottery with roughly a 25% selection rate and processing that spans months. The tradeoff is that TN requires a specific USMCA-listed category match, while H-1B covers specialty occupations more broadly, giving H-1B slightly more flexibility on ambiguous role scopes.
Where can I find Staff AI Product Manager jobs that offer TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. It surfaces Staff AI Product Manager openings at employers with verified TN and work visa sponsorship history, so you're not spending time applying to companies that will decline the moment immigration comes up. Filtering by TN-compatible roles from the start is the most efficient path for Canadian and Mexican professionals.
What documents does a Canadian applicant need when crossing the border for TN status in this role?
You'll need a valid Canadian passport, an employer support letter specifying the Computer Systems Analyst category and the technical nature of your AI PM duties, and credentials proving your qualifying degree. A sealed official transcript or degree certificate is standard. CBP officers can and do question role classification on the spot, so your letter should explain the systems analysis component explicitly rather than relying on the job title alone.
Can a Mexican citizen get TN status for a Staff AI Product Manager role?
Yes, but the process differs. Mexican nationals apply at a U.S. consulate rather than at the border and must schedule a visa interview. Mexico also has a 5,500 annual TN allocation under USMCA, though this cap has not historically been reached for professional roles like AI product management. The supporting documentation requirements are the same: a qualifying technical degree and an employer letter mapping the role to the Computer Systems Analyst category.
